STILETT0 isn't bad as I initially thought. War Master, for sure isn't reliable. But he still is so near replacement for Sakurako. Strike Bugle Accurate for all 3 tyoes and he has 2 star on navy too. Though he has less survivability, he still is very good. Probably the third best hybrid after Davout, Sakurako.
why is he IAP? EasyTech, this is disappointing. Also dam, I thought he had 3 cavalry and two infantry. Even I am asking why my man who carried Marengo and died for his trouble has such terrible stats.
So tall I take over the street Highbeams on my back, wingspan unbelievable I'm a festival, I'm a parade And All The Wine is all for me And All The Wine is all for me And All The Wine is all for me
Brock is a bad an unreliable general. His stars looks like he is the brother of Sakurako with specialization in infantry. However, he doesn't have good skills. Banner is good, but expensive. Bugle is a very good infantry skill, but you really don't need Sailor as your land generals rarely fight on land. Assault Art is really unreliable. He doesn't really have place in your lineup and someone like Oudinot or Dobeln is much better.
Did you just say mah man Brock, who carried Britain 1812, mah man Isaac Brock is bad? I cri

Type of General: Infantry (Land Hybrid, but no skills)/Economic general
Scenario one 1 :
You have just purchased some emblems and you come across this man. "Wow! Shiny stars! And since John Marston refused me to buy himself Napoleon...so, I will buy him! *5 minutes later* What! such a crap general! I regret my buy!
Scenario 2 :
You waited me to complete my analysis of Dearborn (Thank You for that ) and you learn that Dearborn is actually not a good general!
His mainstay is infantry, but he has only formation and bugle for that. Architecture is a good skill, but it's not enough as an economic general. War Expert is not desirable. Sure, he has 5 star movement, which is great, but he cannot take may hits. Also, he has 5 stars in trading, which means he is inferior to Arnold, who is available from the start! and costs medals only. He is a Must "NOT" - Buy.
I made this mistake with List in WC3. I will never make that mistake again. Dearborn looks like a piece of trash in general. Stars only, skills all useless....who would want to buy him?

5 movement Stars and his Stars make him a valuable general already, war master is useful for building rank. The value of architecture is increased immensely by high movement. Architecture is most valuable when you can upgrade 2 facilities in a turn high movement makes it possible.
Finally, formation we can throw out but bugle is the only infantry skill that matters for generals on your team. He is good.
His 2 skills and his replacability made me rank him avg. Sailor is not really needed because land units rarely fight on seas. Even if he can fight on seas, he can fight only on cavalry. And useless Mobility. I feel that Dombrowski/Radetzky are a better deal. Giving them a saddle and pistol will make him much better than Lassale.
How can be Radetzky a better deal
Radetzky costs +33% and offers less output (- 1β cavalary, -mobility) He has less movement -2 movement !
Even if you throw +1500π on top to the 33% higer basic price for Radetzky to compare them, he will be never better in attack than Lassalle. But he has a 10% change to reduce recieved dammage to a minimum, and nobleman - quite expensive.
Before you also raked down Moreau because he has on top 4β infantry that are not used. This is a logical error: - A general can't get downraked, because he offers unused stars on top. For a mission in the campaign - like always
The main factor, I found out is that competition from other generals is huge. Why would you need Moreau, when you have Davout or Sophia or Isabella or even Nelson for that matter. I never actually considered extra stars as a downgrade factor. Sure, I might agree on what you said about Lassale because he is unique, but not on Moreau, mainly because there are better buys and he can't take many hits.

You do have Washington who is much better. My mind is clouded on the assumption that why would you need an inferior quality general, when you have a superior one. He could had been a better general if he had Economic Master/Expert instead of War Expert and not having Leadership hurts if you have to defend with him. He also doesn't has Mass Fire.

Let's agree to disagree about the rank building skills?π
Mass fire is good and all, but easily corrected by the snare. Your downside is one attack or defense item when his morale drops.
The big thing for me is movement and the evasion skill Set. Movement is so expensive and difficult to correct, Diez is hard to find and the most expensive cheapest trainer. With bugle you can be sure you can get significant damage. Road to Hell Dearborn is awesome! He skips around the map flanking enemies and seizing facilities, doing steady 40 damage. He's very much a hybrid, With 5 Move and stars across the board, He can be an asset on all types of units.

Different, not necessarily better. Its much cheaper and easier to get Dearborn to 5 trade stars Then Washington to 5 Move, if we are training them. Snare replaces mass fire, but there's no substitute for bugle. I rank war master above banner. So it basically comes down to leadership.
It's So valuable if you are an American ally in 1776, but in other situations not really as important. I'd rank bugle, accuracy, strike above it for sure.

I just menioned Moreau, because it was to much. The first four sentences you talk about his inantry-what? He is an abolute artillery specialist. At the end you can say an on top he throws even impressive, but unused 4 infantry. Why you think about Davaut as competitor ? Davout is missing the most essential skill, has the not usefull (except at start when you don't have a horse) geography, lousy mid game on. Moreau has much higher output on average. AA is fun. You completly underestimate the importance of movement. There is only one move trainer in t1. I would never spend a dime for an general with 1 or 2 movement. Check your Rating of LaSalle and Poinanix. How ?
Training stars are maybe usefull beginning with 4 stars. The low upgrades give verry little HP and consume one attack. For ingame generals training stars are fantastic, but when you train HQ generals?
When you assume IAP, we must also assume more slots. With more slots, unfocused generals - you call them hybrids, are not needed when you can have a better specialist. During a conquest you cant change the unit.
The discussion about generals makes only sence for a no-princess game. The girls are always one different league. Generals will only consume space, or you start with the princess to buy late some generals.

Washington's movement is enough for infantry and if there is one person for whom buying a banner is worth it, it's him I feel. Lack of leadership hurts for Dearborn though.

1. Moreau is still absolutely bad because he lacks Geography and he can't take many hits. He still has 2 movement stars. He is an artillery specialist and he of corse won't be of much use on infantry because A. no one puts him on infantry and B. Even if they put him on infantry, he has no skills whatsoever.
2. Davout is an absolute beast. Sure, but he still has Explosive. Geography and 3 movement stars are equivalent to Moreau's 2 move and Engineering. And Davout can also be sued on Cavalry. You never cease to tell "AA is fun"
3. Yep and Moreau is 2 stars. I agree with you on Lassale but Poinatowski is absoutely bad as hybrids don't give much output.
4. Of course, I consider that having IAP means more slots, unless one doesn't use princesses.
"The discussion about generals makes only sence for a no-princess game. The girls are always one different league. Generals will only consume space, or you start with the princess to buy late some generals." I will change some reviews based on this point.
"When you assume IAP, we must also assume more slots. With more slots, unfocused generals - you call them hybrids, are not needed when you can have a better specialist. During a conquest you cant change the unit." I don't understand this.
"How much wood would the Wehrmacht make if the Wehrmacht were to make wood?" - I'll ask my Argentinian Grandpa!
Wellesley is another good general, however, the main problem with him, as we saw with Murat is that there are better replacements. Why would a combat general need Economic master? He would stay in the cities only for healing. Banner is really expensive. Bugle and Leadership are great skills. But, he has only 2 movement stars, which is very poor.
You must admit that with snare drum, he is the best infantry general, and if not that, then the best defending one.
How much wood would the Wehrmacht make if the Wehrmacht were to make wood?
