As for Wales and Denmark, Denmark is a shadow of its former self, while Wales still has three fantastic players, and has recently faded out of obscurity.

Maybe Denmark would win. Then Denmark vs Netherlands, where Netherlands would win. What about the bigger one? Germany vs England? here's what I am afraid of: Germany vs England goes 0-0 into extra time, and goes to penalty shootouts, where Germany is better. It has been a tried and tested method for Germany and has worked even in Wembley. If the penalties do happen, I hope we do them in front of English fans. We lost only two of our last 26 games on home soil. Just asking, but why are you such a fierce supporter of English?

Also, England and Wales are such interesting teams to watch.

Only time can give us the answer P-) I am rooting for Germany! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy if England loses, I will be blaming you John Marston! I am actually really happy for the Swiss and how they beat the French today. I was let down when Austria and Croatia put up such a good fight, yet failed at the last second. England vs Germany came too early, and there was one group with three elite teams, and 2 with mediocre (besiding Belgium and Holland ofc)

I have absolutely no clue about soccer, but I vote Czechoslovakia, because they have the coolest name, and nothing comes from that country except soccer.

EURO 2020-a complete recap
Group Stages In this tournament we got to see one of the most confusing lineups when it came to groups. Most notably one group including three world-class teams (Germany, France, Portugal), and one containing a few mediocre teams (excepting Belgium), giving Denmark an easy Runner-Up placement against Finland and Russia. The best team performance in the group stages came from Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, winning all 3 of their matches. Meanwhile, teams like Germany are not up to standard of their usual football, with Germany only just managing to score an equaliser against Hungary. Spain was also forced into a goal-less draw against Poland. Lots of disappointing games have come from the group stages, especially another 0-0 draw in an England v Scotland game, one where Scotland played the better football, but the highly defensive mindset of the English team, rathering possession and comfort with the ball over more goal set-ups, stopped them from scoring at all.
Round Of 16 Here, the mediocre/low quality teams meet the stars, and….they surprisingly play better football. In Italy vs Austria, a goal wasn’t scored until extra time, and the Austrians immediately scored an equalizer. Unfortunately the depth of skill of Italy’s substitutes won out, and another one was scored in the dying minutes of extra time. Croatia, the team who won the last world cup went against Spain, the only team who was able to defend a European Cup title (2008-2012). This was obviously an intersting matchup, and was one of the most interesting games coming out of the Round of 16, ending 5-3, with Croatia racking up two goals in the last minutes of the second half. Portugal, the team who won EURO 2016, was knocked out 1-0 by Belgium. A team whom usually doesn’t leave the tournament until the quarter-finals, easily knocked out by one who lost 3-1 to Wales 4 years ago.
England vs Germany England had a rough time until around 2016. Their new manager, Gareth Southgate, slowly got rid of the older players, like Sturridge, and after their goalkeeper Hart was to blame for their terrible loss to Iceland in 2016, he was fired almost on the spot, for the younger, more spriteful Pickford. Their team advanced to the semi-finals, until beaten by Croatia, the team who went on to claim the World Cup title in 2018. The quality of their team has quite obviously improved quite a bit, with some sharp retribution to Croatia, winning against them in their opening match, and going on to only draw against Scotland. Germany, after just crawling into Runner-Up position, was not looking to be their peak. Famous forward, Thomas Muller was not having the best season of his life, and Neuer, acclaimed to be one of the best European goalkeepers of his time, had let in 5 goals in the group stages. However, for many fans, history had already decided what would happen. A dull game, no goals, and a Germany win on Penalty shootouts. The exact same thing happened in 1996, and Germany was notorious for Wembley wins on England. So we kickoff! Feeling is more towards Germany at this point. For the first 15 minutes, England is not playing very good football, and two close calls almost break the nil-all. Around the twentieth minute, England becomes more comfortable with the ball, and fall into the best performance they’ve had since the group-stage game against Croatia. Finally, around the seventieth minute, a goal! Sterling has scored, and he has so far scored all 3 England goals for this tournament! With some new fuel in the tank from a new goal, England attack with much more vigor, and Harry Kane, a player who hasn’t had the best season, has just put it into the back of the net! A 2-0 win for England, occurs. Gareth Southgate, and has team, have just showed that history does not repeat itself.
Disappointing finshes Two of the most disappointing finishes I have seen so far come from a very young French player, Mbappe, and the long-time German forward, Muller
In France’s game against Switzerland, 6 goals were scored, and it was still level between the two teams when it was time for the dreaded p-word. Switzerland were doing themselves a nice record, mostly clean, and then came France’s last member. For some reason the manager, Deschamps, decided it would be a good idea to put their youngest player, one who has been having a terrible season in front of the goal net for a game-deciding goal. Mbappe was a good player, but all that stress on such a young person, one who has been on the pitch for almost the entire torunament, in a position that decides the future of the French international team. Mbappe misses. He is a great player, and I genuinely hope that he and his team come to Euro 2024 and wipe everyone in the tournament.
Thomas Muller had two chances to bring glory to Germany in their game against England, yet he failed both. He is fantastic at breaking through the English lines of defense, as is seen in their game against them, but he was not able to capitalize on that. Once it was just him and Pickford, a great chance for a goal or at least a shot on target as Pickford was doing fantastic in this match, yet he missed by a long shot. Muller has been on the German team for quite while now, and while he still seems young, it looks as if he has seen better days.
Fantastic Footballers Two have caught my eye so far: Sterling and Gosens. Gosens carried his team out of their darkest days in the group stage, and was a massive threat to the English defense. He is arguably one of the most useful players on pitch. He deserves the credit he recieves, even if Germany is going home. Sterling, on the other hand, has presently scored 4 out of 5 England goals, and has been everywhere at once. Gareth Southgate kept two key veteran players: Sterling and Kane, and it has not failed him one bit. Sterling, in essence is Gosens but more refined for goals and goal assists. Honorable mentions: Modric, Griezmann, Jorginho, Lukaku, Pickford, Neuer, Foden, Mount, De Bruyne, Schick.
Belgium vs Italy Italy just barely crawled out of their match with Austria, and Belgium has turned into a formidable opponent, beating (imo) the best team Europe has to offer. Both teams have equal chance of winning. Will it be Italy’s excellent coordination and substitutes that win this one, or Lukaku’s deadly accuracy and the prowess of Belgian strikers? Switzerland vs Spain Switzerland survived a round against France through penalty shootouts, so can they win against Spain? Top in FIFA rankings, but their representation of those rankings are incredibly inaccurate. Spain has fantastic strikers, but Switzerland has well refined midfielders. History has been leaning towards Spain, but this tournament has been strange enough already.
Czech Republic vs Denmark Denmark, has become a shadow of its former self. Winning the 1992 European Cup, which they didn’t qualify until Yugoslavia dropped out, is really a rags to riches experience. Their craftiness still shows in their 4-0 win against Wales, a team who had made it to the Semi-Finals in the last Euro. The Czech Republic had to come through worse though. While Wales is historically a very obscure team, only coming into the light of fame when stealing group b winner from England, and riding that all the way to Portugal, the Netherlands are historically skilled team, who are still very skilled to this day. Much better than Denmark. So it is really a game that can go either way.
England vs Ukraine Sweden was knocked out after a crazy last second goal from Ukraine before that dreaded p-word. A Ukrainian player was yellow-carded for taking his shirt off in celebration. A very reasonable celebration in my eyes, for Ukraine has failed to even qualify for the Euros, and if they do, they are always sitting bottom of their group. They are a more skilled Russia, if you may. A Russia that actually has a chance to defeat mildly skilled teams. England, with Sterling going through a golden age, and Kane warming up his boots to turn into his full potential for this tournament, England has a much better chance against Ukraine. However, Ukraine have gotten this far, and Sweden is a historically strong and skilled team even without Ibrahimovic, so they have indeed been through things to get where they are now.

Honorable mentions: Modric, Griezmann, Jorginho, Lukaku, Pickford, Neuer, Foden, Mount, De Bruyne, Schick. Sterling was completely unexpected. I thought he will struggle to find the back of the net like he did in Man City but it seems to be the complete opposite. The shine of Gosens and the struggle of Müller are both results of Löw's 3-4-3 and his tactics. Gosens is one of the best left wingbacks in Serie A right now in Gasperini's 3-5-2 Atalanta and Müller just seems unfit to anything else than the AM role in 4-2-3-1. Mbappé is getting consumed by his ego after being praised for years and doesn't look like the humble wonderkid in 2018 anymore. He probably need to make changes to a lot of things. Also, Deschamps was certainly out of his mind when he put Lenglet in the back 3. Another very notable player is Leonardo Spinazzola, the Italian left-back.

Erich von Mansteina few questions: Which team do/did you root for, in terms of EURO 2020 (if you root for anyone) Who do you think will win the Euros? Do you think Pickford will be able to keep a clean sheet against Denmark? Who do you think will win in the Italy vs Spain game?

Do you think Pickford will be able to keep a clean sheet against Denmark? Who do you think will win in the Italy vs Spain game? 1. Nobody. 2. I thought it would be France. After they are knocked out, Italy. Spinazzola's injury is a serious problem though. 3. A good chance he would. After all they stopped Schick. But Denmark's threat doesn't come only from Kasper Dolberg, so they will need to put in some effort. Unlike other teams England played against in this tournament, Denmark possess both a goal scorer in hot form and a team that could effectively create chances for the finisher. 4. Italy won before you posted.

France and Germany are not having very good seasons, and even with Griezmann, Mbappe, and Pogba, I don't believe they can outdo teams like Portugal and Italy. 3. Fair enough, but Denmark has been able to excel without Eriksen this season, and they stomped Wales, a pretty good team imo so badly. England vs Ukraine never really put anxiety about the outcome, but this game against Denmark does. 4. Oh, I thought both semi-finals were today, but I guess since both were in Wembley, no chance of it being on the same day.
