I absolutely hate Archers, and I try to never use them (except for them big boy Ashigarus). They are far too fragile and slow, and even though they do good damage, IMO it doesn't make up either for their incredibly slow rage regen (unlike infantry, my archers sometimes don't ever get an additional rage) or their fragility. Again, Mocte with his skills, Nobby with his Mass Fire, and Ashigarus in general are exceptions.

This game has a bias that supports cav and archer gens. However, you can still play and do well with an inf line up.
If you're really uncomfortable with archer gens, then boost the fighting capability of your inf, cav and arty gens to compensate.
If it is archer class, it's not much of a problem if you have alternatives for winning in a battle.

But the Arch com team (almost gens are arch with 1 arty 1 cav/inf, these number are more or less) is the first most popular team in this forum in the early time of game. Arch team has every thing a team need, healing gen, damage reduce buff gen, leadership debuff gens, 2-3 commander buff gens (they have very high atk and 2-3 com are enough, and we can avoid KSing to get rage to active com as much as possible). They're fragile but can attack w/o retaliation (except arch vs arch but you still have a chance to avoid retaliation). Movement isn't a real problem in EW5 while you can equip boots which increase the movement range a lot, and I don't think Archer is slower than other type in this game. And one more thing, inf doesn't have rage buff in early time of game (ET makes a buff for inf lately). Even now, I'm still thinking arch com team is a very solid team and use it. |

Like after I gave my Catherine a Lunar Shield she has 300+ defense and 1800+ hp on a machine gunner |

Like after I gave my Catherine a Lunar Shield she has 300+ defense and 1800+ hp on a machine gunner Catherine? Gah! But I prefer giving Armor to someone who has high HP. Ceasars with the Paladin Set is literally Indestructible. I used to do that too, but after I moved the armor to an archer (Catherine is the best archer I have), they become almost unstoppable. |

I am trying to get Nobunaga, I am currently at 1600 medals, when I get 2300, I plan on buying him. Then I will train him to level 30 and upgrade him to ashigaru |
