I'm going to go for ArcCom/Mixed since those are most people here recommended, any suggestions about those two line-up and what steps I have to take to not spend any resources meaningless?

I'd recommend either infantry OR cavalry for the front line. It's also worth considering who will wield the artefacts as it's preferable not to lose out on a useful active skill.

Now before I'm going to go up into Discovery age I think I should have buy a general first. I'm considering to buy Richard to be a frontliner or should I buy Yi Sun Sin? Any suggestions who'se archers to fill up my team beside Nobunaga & Nelson?

Yi has good attack and Armor Master is useful, but is he worth the expense as a 4th/5th choice archer when we have Mocte? Li Hongzhang is the proven 2nd Commander - God level Pachacuti is as yet untested in the end game afaik, and certainly by me.

If I ever decide to make another run my team will be built-up around awakened generals. Something like Pachacuti-Li-Nelson Suriyothai-Attilla-Hannibal Khalid-Bismarck/LiShimin.

Actually I'm kinda hesitant to buy Richard since I have Alex & Barb, so now I'm considering Attile since it is said that he's the best cavalry gen, but Attila's active is Cavalry Commander, so should I use another cavalry gen with Attila rather than infantry?

Great minds think alike I'm having similar thoughts for my next game.

That would probably be recommended. If you do not want to spend medals though, I think Hannibal would be fine. He does really well for me as he is my only Cavalry Option.
