Napoleon Bonaparte and Moreau like this

Receently (Like three days ago recently) Ive gotten mods to work for Victoria 2. Ive downloaded one called the Historical Project Mod, which adds in more historical events, such as Punitive Expeditions in China (Which give treaty ports), a more developed Treaty of London between Britain, Belgium and the Dutch, and later on the Congo Free State. Theres also a lot more than that added in.
Opening Stages:
I opened up as Belgium in the 1836 start (No 1860 start btw, but i never use it so thats fine imo) and Belgium includes modern belgium, Luxembourg, and parts of Zeeland which it did own prior to the Treaty of London. The Dutch and the Belgians have a truce until april 1839, giving me time to take a colonial possession before fighting them. I take over a country on the Nigerian coast so that i can expand from there. (The mod also adds more nations in africa, which will make sense why in a minute). By the time my troops have come back from Africa, the Treaty of London event occurs. The first option of the Treaty of London states that i will give up Zeeland and Luxembourg (Not a huge problem) but i have to lose 20 prestige out of my 11, which would easily knock me out of my current GP status. In return, id gain positive relations with the dutch and my land wouldn't be cored by them, along with better relations with the other great powers. The other option states that i will gain more prestige and not have to give up any land. Doing so decreases relations with all the GP's, ends my alliance with Great Britain and allows the Dutch to declare war on me. I choose the second option, as i have spent all my diplo increasing relations with france, prussia and Britain.
The Belgian War of Independence:
I have a total of 42,000 men at my disposal sitting in Bruxelles. The Dutch have more brigades than i do, but much of it is stuck in Indonesia fighting the natives in the region, meaning that they only have 42,000 men at home at the beginning. I have a clear advantage, however. My army organization is much higher than the Dutch, and my general is better than theirs. The Dutch enter Antwerp, and i send my army to intercept them. The battle commences, and the end result was thousands of casualties on both sides, but more dutch casualties. They retreat and we follow. We follow them all the way to Rotterdam before we retreat back into Belgium to regain strength. By the time the Dutch mobilize, my 42,000 men have come back, better than ever. I split my army into two, to carpet siege their land. My armies crush the inexperienced Dutch farmers. Soon, the Belgian tricolor waves over Amsterdam itself, and the Dutch push for surrender.
Peace Negotiations:
Another event now occurs. Three options this time. The first is a white peace, with the Dutch losing cores on all my land except luxembourg along with extra relations with the other Great Powers. The second gives me some Dutch colonial possessions, they still lose cores, and i get some negative relations with the other powers. The final one continues the war to push more demands, but negative 100 with the great powers. I choose the second option and i gain some of South Java and some Caribbean land. I get a buttload of prestige as well, which easily boosts me to #7 in the world.
Colonial Conquests and Great Power Matters:
With the Dutch defeated and Belgian independence secured, i can now focus on other matters. First things i do are start to sphere Colombia and Egypt so i can build the Panama and Suez Canals as well as produce a justification for war with some more of the countries on the Nigerian coast. Soon all of Southern Nigeria is secured, and the rest will be gained later with the Scramble for Africa. Then i produce a justification for war with the Qing Dynasty. I send my troops there and win the war in two years or so. I chose punitive expedition as justification for war, as you cannot demand a concession from China in this mod. A Punitive Expedition gives you 25% of the defeated nations tax income for around 5 years (so imagine going 25% of China's tax income) as well as gaining a treaty port if available. I choose the port of Qingdao due to its proximity with Beijing and for its strategic location in the Far East.
War for the Protection of the Homeland:
I begin a second war with the Dutch in order to expand my european border with the Netherlands up to the Rhine river. I attack the Dutch, and by this point my army far out matches them. During the war, i also demand Dutch Borneo. I win the war with flying colors, and Borneo is mine.
More Colonial Conquests and Canals:
Now that Borneo became mine, i took over the rest of Borneo that was not in the British sphere of influence. I also took over the rest of South Sumatra. At this time, Oman also split into two kingdoms: One in Oman, another in their African domain of Zanzibar. I declare war on zanzibar to annex and i take them over. Finally, i take over Loango, modern day Congo-Brazzaville. I also begin the construction of the Panama and Suez Canals. Construction began in 1861 for both canals and both ended by 1873. Our ships were the first to cross through the Panama Canal, but the damn brits took the glory of crossing through the suez first away from us.
Ottoman Troubles:
In 1878, an event occurs in the Ottoman Empire following the events of the Russo-Turkish War of 1878. What happens is that Romania becomes independent from the Ottomans, Serbia, Greece and Montenegro gain land from the Ottomans, Bosnia becomes a puppet of the Austrians, Bulgaria becomes a puppet of the Turks, and a random nation is awarded Cyprus. I was that nation, and now Cyprus is mine. The Balkan nations are also divided between the Great Power's spheres of Influence. Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia were given to the Russian Sphere of Influence, Greece was given to the British Sphere, Bosnia to the Austrians, and Montenegro to me! Monty would be proud.
Scramble for Africa Part 1:
in 1880, the Scramble for Africa occurs. At least the first part of it. Countries can physically colonize only some of the areas, but all nations with the Colonial Negotiations tech gain a "Scramble for Africa" war justification on virtually all African nations which can allow them to take over African nations ez pz. I decide to only take over the rest of Nigeria and Benin using these war justifications due to amount of colonial points these nations take up. I also colonize Djibouti (lol), some of Polynesia and Togo. I also gained an establish protectorate on Egypt due to the fact that they expelled my advisors. Im not sure if this is a scripted event if you built the suez canal, but i would assume so. So i take over all of Egypt. I also go to war with Oman to gain a treaty port off them and China again to take Hainan. The Ottomans, Montenegro, Persia, Kalat and Colombia are in my sphere now, with Carlist Spain soon to come.
