First question Why did Hannibal cross the alps? The same reason Napoleon did: to provide a surprise attack against the Romans, as well as circumvent the strong Roman Forces south of the Alps. All in all, it was a mistake, as many historians believe that he lost more men going through the Als than he would if he had fought through the plains of NorthWest Italia. |

The winner will show the world that they are better. As a handicap, you get to choose the question, although it must be reasonable. You can't expect me to argue that the world is flat. I have to vote pro on this, and I will argue for the following thesis: The Armenian Genocide of the Great War was an attempt to both create Patriotic Fervor as well as to introduce stability into the Ottoman Empire rather than to simply exterminate Armenian Christians.
