I didn't use the light artillery too much because I though that it was weak compared to the heavy artillery and the rocket artillery. But thinking it it is very powerful if you add calvary support to speed up and protect the artillery. Because as John Marston said. The artillery has low health compared to other units so they need protection from other units.

Oh and Manstein. I think you choose the light artillery because: 1) it can fire in two hexes. 2) it's cheap compared to other artillery units 3) from all the artilleries it can move fast. 4) artillery firepower can destroy units and generals before they can hurt any of your units. I think these are the points of why you chose the light artillery. Please correct me if there is something I forgot of the light artillery. You are right on spot. However, since it's still pretty slow and expensive comparing to other units, it is best used for high intensity combat in a relatively small region.

I used to spam grenadiers because they had grenades and they are like a cheap version of the guard. But thinking it, I think the strategy would be if I spam grenadiers supported by Calvary and light artillery. I excluded the navy from the question because I don't usually use navy units except when I need to clear the waters for a landing Whether to build grenadiers or guards depends on the country. For example, it's better to build grenadier as Prussia and guards as the Ottoman. However, if there's not a lot of forts or ships to wreck, militia and line infantry (also depending on country) are the more economic options. I don't usually build cavalry without generals, unless it will take too long for infantry to get there and the terrain is rather flat.

Oh yeah. I had forgotten that every country has it's own bonus. So sometimes, it is better to certain units in certain countries. I choose the Grenadier as France, I mass produced it because since it had the things I said, even though I won I got no princess, maybe if I used the artillery maybe it could have been much faster.

Actually no. Artillery is expensive and you have to manage your resources well to get the princesses. Try militia.

Hmmm Grenadier for France I did barely chose. A 1798 conquest has just a few ressources - Militia is the best choice to get many years. For defending a city against strong enemies I use Line Infantry. In 1806, with its abundance of ressources, I use Guards infantry for France. Guards are so hard, most of them survive the conquest with 4 or 5 cheverons in the end. >>> ... If I used the artillery maybe it could have been much faster. I don't believe so.

Wait, the militia can actually be a good unit? I used those units a place-holders. Damn guys you really have taught me a lot of things and now that I look it, I was really playing the game very VERY bad. Thanks everyone for the support. I after all that you have said I am gonna try Netherlands in america 1778. I will tell you guys how my progress will go in the conquest. I will use these strategies.
1) upgrade everything possible for max income, cities, countriesides, towns etc. 2) Use light artillery to attack in heavy areas, bunkers, and cities. 3) produce militias to be the main force. 4) use grenadiers only against bunkers. 5) use calvary to support units with rapid attacks. (kinda like a Blitzkrieg)
