Does AI cross rivers ?

As John Marston talked about the ottoman spam at vienna 1806, I remember that a fort at the bridge close to vienna blocked the ottomans. So came my question: Does AI cross rivers, or do AI exclusively use bridges ?

Ok, I didn't found Berthier and Savary always takes for me the land way. But two rounds later, an infanty unit (no gen) crossed the river Elbe? 3 hex East of Oldenbug, direction Berlin. On purpose and without any fight.

AI can cross rivers.
