Hello everyone, should I buy Yamamoto for the Pacific War 1942? If you want an admiral, go for Doenitz because his aura will definitely benefit nearby ships greatly. Yamamoto only has his naval *s to compensate and you'll never use those *s because he should be on carriers. Yamamoto is an air gen with navy *s. In a naval battle, you'll always waste his navy *s simply because he is better off as a carrier gen. On land, he only has his few *s to compensate until he reaches an airport. Kesselring is more viable as a replacement because he can put up a fight on land due to Victory Rush and one or two more *s. At sea, he will always be deployed on a carrier and still performs well. Ultimately, I didn't invest in any admirals outside the free gens so I don't see a need to consider them. If you want, invest in Kesselring and Doenitz separately rather than Yamamoto.

Hello everyone, should I buy Yamamoto for the Pacific War 1942? I don't think you need Yamamoto or any other air general for that matter. If you can invest medals in him, go for Donitz as he is more useful and if you ever need an air general, get Kesselring as he has good combat ability on land too, compared to Yamamoto, who has none.

Hello everyone, should I buy Yamamoto for the Pacific War 1942? It largely will depend on your roster. To be honest, it is quite difficult to give an advice without additional information. If you are planning to have two axis Infantry generals I would say that Yamamoto eventually is a better option, because he is more useful for Pacific elite battles, and you don't really need Kesselring as an Infantry general. But if you are planning to have only one Infantry general, I would say Kesselring is a better option, because in many of Pacific battles you will fight on land. But if your main concern are Pacific 1942 campaigns, I would say you don't need neither Yamamoto nor Kesselring.

I say no, I mainly got Yamamoto in 1944 to help perfect Pacific War. I also got Nagumo in 1944 because I'm lazy and Nagumo did so much more then Yamamoto. You don't need an admiral for the Axis and Ozawa should be just fine. If you don't want to suffer for a long time though, I suggest Nagumo and Donitz. A lot of Axis Pacific missions in 1942 are actually on land, so Yamashita/Kuri should cover that and for the small amounts of naval battles (which are evil), you might need heavier guns, which Nagumo an Donitz come into play.
Yamamoto is good. Yamamoto is great. Yamamoto is outclassed by Nagumo in terms of Pacific 1942 usefulness.

No, it's just only a waste of medals. Buy Donitz instead

On the contrary, he is the best air in the game, moreso than Kesselring. He loses out on land ability (useless) for Carpet Bombing (fantastic) and has better lineup presence.

Kesselring Land star is NOT useless, you can use him as a paratrooper like Student and still deal high damage

Kesselring Land star is NOT useless, you can use him as a paratrooper like Student and still deal high damage Not if you get an infantry before your air. Model is an infinitely better second infantry than Kesselring.

Model is worse than Kesselring in almost every single way Garrison =< Victory rush Elastic defense =< Dive bombing Jungle fighting << AFC

Kess has 2 mobility and VR for all of Model's skills. If you are going to throw away an air gen by using them in combat you don't get to count the air skills.

See Student? He is technically a air general but still considered a great infantry-Air hybrid

See Student? He is technically a air general but still considered a great infantry-Air hybrid Student is definitely not an air gen. He is far and away an infantry/Paratrooper.
