I've been playing this game since it came out and I still don't understand how the scoring system works. 11 turns, 24 cities, 39598 points 14 turns, 30 cities, 40118 points. I think the difference between 11 and 14 turns is quite big to make up for the lack of 6 cities, or 2 cities less per turn, but ET doesn't seem to think so, is there any reasonable explanation?

hrabrimalitoster, I think the scoring between each conquest period differs as well. I think Rome and han scoring is more on the turn count, while others seem to be more or less on the cities captured along with the number of units. Also, I was about to post my 14 turn illyrian run to tie your Macedon run, then you post this. Safe to say that's out. I remembered just how frustrating punic wars can be due to reliance on allies.

Deleted, I liked it far more in EW6 where we knew how many points we get for each thing. It just doesn't make sense for me to leave the final victory here, but I need to procrastinate in order to take more cities and make more units. I hope that such a scoring system will not be in EW7.

hrabrimalitoster, yeah, i think they realized it when they fixed it in the Rome and Han conquest where it's more reliant on turn counts. EW7 conquest will have a new mechanic, so the scoring would be different I assume. Best way to score for the older conquest is to just keep spamming units and capturing more cities, and using less generals.

Deleted, hrabrimalitoster, Illyria in 14 and Macedonia in 11 are both ridiculously impressive. Just redid Illyria and took Rome on turn 7 with generals so not sure how to take the whole map in 14. Will take a look at Macedonia again, but canโt see how I could do it in 11. Never really worried about the score; aiming at lowering turn count, although with Augustus and Han I am having serious problems getting more than 40% of the map if I donโt play a Gaulish or Germanic tribe

sugarman, For conquest i use generals who have march skill, Comander (Cav), Atilla, Pompey, Crasus, Antony, Tiberius, Bato + Belisarius or Spartacus depending on the situation. Mostly a lot depends on luck, how many times my generals will attack again and activate comander skill, critical dmg ...

You can just keep trying until you get a better turn count. Requires some time to find the optimal path, and the willingness to restart if things go wrong. Wasn't too time consuming for me as the records weren't optimized when I came back, but I imagine that people who will want to try will take a while to beat one.
