As Nhyjj said, Drusus banner. Banner has a good talent, good for generals who want to get in the center of the fighting. Of course, you need to weigh the pros and cons of skill lvl vs talent, although in most cases, you'd pick the talent over skill lvl. |

Hide and Rain of arrow are not very good skills, talent is solid but nothing spectacular, a banner that is not worth upgrading and spending gems. Drasus with this banner would not be significantly stronger. |

Drasus with this banner would not be significantly stronger. Purple gems are basically an infinite resource, just time gated. Eventually, if one plays long enough, all banners and beasts could be fully upgraded. And in that case, Drusus will find it useful, although only in D.B. I'd probably give this to someone like Pacorus or Belisarius. |

God knows when and where I'll find enough gems to upgrade something else to maximum level, because HL campaigns are definitely finite. |

Pretty much scouts rather than fighters. Mammoths are definitely better, as they're good at besieging cities, sturdy and do alright damage. The archers are also great, although i'll probably max my mammoth first before touching them. |

Griffin is the best unit for scout and have good fighting capacity although it's a bad cavalry unit. 23 movement points and ignoring terrain.

Banner of Surena. Makes him a decent tank on a Javelineer, and 3/4 skills buffed are trash. Surena uses two and uses the only decent skill for it. Just keeping a city and holding it.
