Apologies if I am posting to the wrong section of this forum. But, in WC3, in the upgrades listing within the HQ, I had just recently unlocked the last upgrade type. What exactly is it? It looks like a satellite beaming some kind of light, but I do not know how to use it. Thank you.

As already mention, it is ion cannon. You can shoot it anywhere for X damage once every Y rounds (X and Y depend on upgrade level). However, you need to unlock it via a world wonder before you can actually use it.
