There is a legion effect skill "Elephant" for the Elephant archers. According to the description it only works in case of successful charge. But elephant archers unit has no option of charge attack. Does it mean that the skill is useless for this unit type? Melee cavalry War elephants have charge option, so it is clear. But what about Elephant archers? I use one charge cavalry with them, I seriously doubt they will get charge during upgrades. This unit and some others (camel archers, for example) are supposed to be used in a mixed legion, I think. Elephants have a good survivability, so we can only replace our charge cavalry from time to time.

I was thinking about adding them into Ceaser's legion but the plan was to keep the legion formation: Counter inf + 2 archers. Imo it is powerful combo. So in that case I will probably add Genoa archers instead later on, as elephant skill will be useless in this case. But elephants are very interesting units. They definitely have good potential. It is just I don't have a gen to mix them properly right now.

No idea. Maybe it's siege weapons. Siege weapons don't provide damage, just boosters It says "and muskets" artillery just means all other ranged units

Finally something to shake a bit every “Deus vult” fanboys. I was planning to give Robinhood too a big fat Dumboo.

Yeah, I was thinking about him as Force March is essential for max effective use of Elephants + he has Desperate Wager. But he is more about elephants as cavalry. And I was thinking more about elephant archers. Btw whether general cavalry skill (not melee, charge) like Cavalry Tactician is working for Ranged Cavalry or not?

I saw my Aetius charge with one melee cavalry and 2 infantry swordsmen.

I think it depends on how easytech defines "charge" in this case. If it means any subunit triggering charge could work, then stoic's way of mixing units would be the most ideal choice. In that case I wonder if Narses will be a better pick. 2. Don't think so.
