So, I have bought el cid because we're going to need to buy him anyway (Hero legend) and I was wondering whether to use him as an infantry general or a archer general. He has outburst, which is very useful on infantry but useless on archers. However, he has more archer skills and a 30% bonus with conquistadors. I haven't gotten far enough to raid his campaign though, so I don't know if you can get conquistadors in it. If you can, then great. If you can't, then it would be almost impossible to get conquistadors to a respectable level.

I'm thinking that maybe a infantry-archer hybrid could work, but then I'd either have to do 2 varangian+1 conquistador which would be frail or 1 varangian+1 conquistador+1 counter inf which is probably better although it does less damage.

I think
Conquistadors + Varangians + Elephant archers
or
Conquistadors + War Elephants + Mongolian archers
or
Conquistadors + Conquistadors + Varangians
or
Conquistadors + Noble cavalry + Elephant archers
all these combinations have some prospects, imo...
Because of his weapon El Cid is an archer in the first place.

Surprise, surprise  but El Cid's hard mode Raid provides us with Conquistadors PLUS! 40 war souls!!! Best f2p Raid so far. YAY! Good thing that I haven't spent my raid tickets yet. So, do you think that el cid with 3 conquistadors is viable? Or is it better to take advantage of outburst? nvrmind I saw your other post |

I don't like the calvary archer builds because the calvary will go in front and they die quite easily. |

Actually Mamlukes + Mongolian archers + Conquistadors is a pure Archer combination worthy to try too, but I don't think that Mamlukes will be an easy to get unit. Anyway, El Cid is not very fast, and, in comparison to Dragoons, Conquistadors only have 9 mobility. So, his lack of mobility should be compensated with outstanding firepower and Charge/moral decrease variations. |

This way You have 1 additional mobility if compared to Elephant archer. It is a bit less morale debuff and less deff (but higher dodge) and Camel Archers could be stronger while You are in the process of upgrading Elephant archers. Also in case unique weapon is upgraded it could provide quite often Outburst usage and Varangian could be replaced by Nordic Heavy Axeman. He has a bit higher damage and with conquistador and Outburst we don't need Varangian's forest movement and higher charge rate. |

It is not 10+20. It is 20 at level 9 instead of 10 at level 1 Bonus is replaced, not added. |
