I think any unit on top tier ships could win the day. With the same ship type, I think Melee Inf is the best in naval battles.

i think genoese shielded crossbows could be best. 😬 Why? decreasing ranged attacks by %50. but i don't know if it's applied to naval fights

Well, Cavalry gets significantly debuffed, so that is out of the picture. And Archers are way too fragile to be of much use. I lean Counter (due to defense) if there are few Archers and lean Melee if there are many.

Are the unit and legion effects still applied when ships fight against ships?

Cnut on Viking longship deals insane damage. Also when I was doing Beli's last stage of his last mission (normal) lmao

Thanks, For me: the tutorial seems to implies that cavalry only does 50% damage in naval but from my experience it's not true. I simply deploy alfred with 3 noble cavalry in naval and change the ship, and I don't observe any "debuffed".

I think they mean that cavalry units are weaker due to the fact that they won't be able to charge as a ship.

If that's the charge then I totally misunderstand the tutorial. My bad. Does charge = red number regardless of 1 or 3 unit? If so, I am pretty sure, my Alfred with 3 noble cavalry did charge in naval battle. My memory could fail me though like the tutorial case, so once I have time to do some run, I will post the picture.

I think Cav has a -20% dmg at navy. And red just means you have unusually high damage.
