I hope you have a cloud safe, buddy.. I have had him for a bit and haven't been disappointed. Especially for defensive assignments El Cid outperforms Lancelot. I already have Roland and Richard I, a third Cab would be luxury. I can still purchase another gen and max them immediately.

This pool shows how democracy doesn't simply work... In this case the lord was a better pick due to the fact that this person doesn't have archer gens and Alfred isn't needed when they've got Richard Just wanted to be a clown

There is just an inherent danger of people reading "guides" and purchasing without making up their own mind. Best example is all those Basil II in circulation due to a hasty guide.

I would prioritize something that is not on the list is Roland. He is a very versatile gen for campaigns. Unlike some generals, he doesn't require special units to be good, plus you unlock his weapon in Chapter 3, which is an easy one. He has good damage bonuses as a melee cav gen. Although he is expensive, he can get up to over 100 capability points in Calvary if you equip him with his weapon. Next I got Narses, he is good defense infantry/archer gen due to his unique weapon and has the op forced march skill set. He can move fast as hell with the Belsarius and Narses bond, he is a good secondary archer gen. Afterwards, get Alfred the Great the best charge cav gen in game, the man can easily deal up to 1500 damage with noble cav. Afterwards, get Cnut, he best infantry general in game. He has a average damage output of 800-1200 and can absorb insane amounts of damage. Plus his active skill and high capability points allows him to take out key targets with ease. Lastly get El Cid who is the best archer gen in game. He allows you to get the conquistador unit. He can deal an insane amount of damage if enquiped with the right units. He can easily deal 1500 damage and even 1800 damage if you use his outburst ability with Varangian guard and two ranged units. Justinian is optional, he is good at conquest, but he is hella expensive.

This was about adding to that existing roster. My next would probably be Justinian for grinding out Hegemony in conquest.
