This game is a bit p2w heavy.

Any World Conqueror 4 veteran will think that House of Normandy is a easy compared to most chapters in Wc4. However, it is probably the hardest level for this game. I would suggest getting, Alfred, Cnut, and Roland before starting this level.

There are special mercenary units in game such as, noble calvary, Varangian guard, viking raiders, etc. However, there are not tech levels. Instead, each unit in game has levels instead of tech. The difficult part about the game is that the enemy units will always be over leveled because you can only level up regular units to a certain point for each chapter. Especially, in hard mode campaign where some enemies will be level 15, while your regular units will be level 2-8 depending on the unit. Your mercenary units may have higher levels, but they are a pain to upgrade because you need to obtain fragments. Overall, the campaigns in this game suck, but the conquests are very fun.

And how can I obtain the mercenary units? Q2. Can we level up our units? Q3. By fragments, you mean the one which is beside the coins? The 200 we get when we start the game? Q4. Why is the conquest locked?

Why is the conquest locked? 1. From the recruit screen. This allows you to obtain fragments for mercenaries and war gear. It costs tickets to use this recruit function. 2. Yes. After spending 30 fragments on the unlock, any further fragments can be used to upgrade the mercenaries (2/2/5/5/10/10). Standard units require a mix of gold and an upgrade mat. 3. Those are souls of war that can be traded for specific fragments. They can be obtained by selling fragments or specific achievements. Use these solely for key units like Varangians. 4. The 4th conquest has not been released yet. Certain countries are locked but can be unlocked by completing other conquests.

I think 3 refers to the mercenary order just right beside the coins in recruit screen, an d on the other hand, 4 might also refer to the conquest being locked yet since he hasn't finished the first/second(chapter) campaign as he just started and said conquest as a whole but i might be wrong.

Mercenary unit fragments are also obtainable via final campaign battles and hard mode raids.

Difficultly comparison: EW7 House of Normandy >>> GoG3 Pacific 1942 *cough cough* tinchebray bremule civil war It was actually pretty easy to me (except Tinchebray) but that is probably because of significant IAPs. Meanwhile me completed Normandy Normal Mode without IAPs (completely f2p) I won in a server anniversary event of ET's discord and got Richard + 250 medals (to get robin). But I am technically still f2p
