It's a shame that Ivar didn't get the Navigator skill. I mean, he is free.
At least Halfdan can serve as a cheaper Hardrada. He isn't as good as Hardrada on land, though.
Cnut is the real star here. A beast in land and at sea, with Level 3 Navigator.
Is Halfdan (bond is probably the only reason you will use him) worth it? That question really decides the worth of this bond. Because we all know that you are going to get Cnut anyways. It is a great bond at sea, however.

They are not that expencive to upgrade, who knows, maybe there will be massive naval battles in the future.

I have this bond and It’s pretty good. It’s useful when you have to beat some hard treasures missions and in other difficult campaigns. In my experience Ivar is better than Halfdan on land (strangely). However the second has naval skill which could be güt but only with a defence item equipped.

Apparently, ET decided that this bond was too OP and balanced it with a nonentity Ivar. This is a fly in the ointment in a barrel of honey. However, this is one of the best bonds and most likely a must-have in the late game. Especially in the absence of good ships.
