So I compared them, very close... Cnut +15%dmg,-20%def Inf. Capacity 62 Active skill -50% dmg debuff on enemy (tho supporting skill) Melee inf. +8%, axe +7% ( 1,08*1,07=1,1556 dunno if it works like these or maybe 1,08+1,07=1,15) Navigator3, +25% naval dmg, no mobility penalty (again versatile) Unit Viking Rider, tier III Basil II +14%dmg,-18%def (1:0) Inf. Capacity 55 (2:0) Active skill - max dmg every second round (2:1, but for me already 2:2) Melee inf +6%, axe + 10% (1,06*1,1=1,166 or 1,06+1,1=1,16 🥁 2:2) Plain commands (2:3) Unit Varangian, tier V (2:4) P.S. don't have maxed item for them, but after all it will be 3:4 (extra 22% reducing vs +40 archer) 1) Unique item buffs every unit. So it will only be 1 out of 3 units difference Raider vs Varangians (if Your Cnut has 1Raider+2Varangians setup). Difference won't be that significant. 2) Max damage every two turns. Have Your ever tested it and compared to the damages You deal without Headhunting? Skill is extremely weak. Not even close to a very good skill of Cnut. One of the best one when fighting against strong enemies. 3) Archery ability vs damage reduction.. yeah, no comments here. And plains idk.. such feeling it is forests and hills all over the map. Idunno, with vs without Headhunting there is a nice 50-100 dmg buff every two turns.

Well, I must admit that for different players "nice" could be different. I prefer to lower the damage of a very strong opponent by 55% rather than receive 3-5% damage buff for myself even though I can have it more often (most likely It won't save my day anyway).

Without upgraded item its 5 turn cd... but after all it's very subjectively, I'd rather use basil if it's not naval. Against super boss units I'm using Matilda + Caesar, tho, never had a situation when i need to use exactly -50% dmg

Btw, is it in the siege of Damascus hard that we get his special item? ‘Cause I‘ve completed the normal version and all I got was a Mongolian war horse

I don't know... These ranged points are really out of place here. 😒

Crazy, I didn't realize this but he's clearly weaker in cavalry even with Knight Templar in hand

It absolutely was not a surprise. They don't want to make OP gens even with IAP. Look at Genghiz or Saladin weapon. Attila is a bit limited in power with passive skills. And Basil is free. Would be surprised if his weapon was high tier.

Would be surprised if his weapon was high tier. I agree that asking for damage reduction/bonus is too ambitious. But ranged points ?! 😮 Cavalry points, moral would be more suitable for Basil. Now it is a dilemma whether to ignore it completely or to add some archers (perhaps Camel archers) to his legion...
