 here is my case for lovely matilda as 2nd cav general; i've been using her since i can't stand with "great basil regret" before they made him inf. now we don't have many options for cav, if u have doubts on baldwin, fred. matilda offers you good usage with cheap price. she can reach 88 cav points with fully upgraded item. her active, 3 turns calmness is insanely good. especially last campaigns have 5k-10k hp units or/and cities. by her support, it's easy peasy for saladin/alfred active skills. i gave her elephants, no need to worry about mobility since she is supporting dmg dealers behind them. can lower morale the tanky units or sweep the leftover units that clogging the lanes. if you have +1 gen privalige, most of the time 3dmg dealer gens are enough to complete missions, so u don't need another charge cav with good damage imo. if you are looking for alternative options, lovely matilda says hi to you! anyone else using her? bit underrated imo |

I think that without Caesar's Commentaries, she is not anywhere near a top 2 cavalry general. With level 4 Calmness (presumably with 2 cooldown), she can be considered as a fourth after Simeon, Roland, and Alfred. Without it, add Baldwin and Lancelot to that mix. But at that point, she ought to be considered to be a support general, not a cavalry one. |

There's also an item in the shop purchasable with silver coins that boost calmness. If you equip it on Mathilda then she gets a whopping 2 turn calmness!

6Johnny23,for sure we can't expect from her at brawls more than cav gens that you mentioned. but do we need 2 cav gens with high damage? i don't think so, if you have +1 general previlage especially. (we need couple of cav gens for sure, just because campaigns start with couple of cavalry legions) idk maybe it's just me, i like to specialized my generals for every type of unit and roles. like defensive archer gen, attacking archer, mobility archer gen (to sneak in cities or blocking pathways to protect targeted units) same for cavalry gens. alfred is doing all attacking cav job that i want, so i didn't see the point of also having lesser versions of him for same role (except basil the regret bc he was hyped so much lol) so i'll prolly have alexios when his item is avaliable for same reason, he offers something different than lesser versions of alfred, as cav gen. matilda too

yeah his skill can be handy for stupid ai allies needs to be protected all game long. so i'm not ruling barbie out yet but won't buy him until facing with impossible "protect allies missions"

matilda is the only f2p gen with calmness lvl 3. does anybody remember if there were more before they blocked the skills of gens that are yet unavailable.
do you know if there will be other calmness lvl 3(4 with item) that are not caesar and matilda?
