*thunderous f2p laugh* Hey! I have 3283 medals as of writing this, and an urge to try out some more generals. And new units. My team has 11 core members:
Alfred: Noble - Noble - Templars Cnut: Triple Varangians Roland: Triple Camel Riders (will switch to triple Teutons when able to) Basil: Triple Varangians El Cid: Varangian - Ravenna - Conquistador Narses: Garrison - Woad - Ravenna Justinian: Ravenna - Conquistador - Conquistador Belisarius: Phalanx - Phalanx - Varangian Simeon/Swageon: Triple Templars Aetius: Triple Phalanx Pepin: Ravenna - Conquistadors - Conquistadors
Tack on every bronze general and freebies available before Macedonia/Normandy and you have all of my generals.
I have finished every normal campaign, and every hard HL available to me, all Barbarian conquests (working on Viking), beat Macedonia hard and under, and have Basil's item. At the naval stages of the treasure stages. Pathetic in Territory mode.

I think the best way to spend medals right now is to refresh the shop and to collect as many fragments as possibible. we have several decent fragments in the shop - Varangians, Noble cavalry, Ravenna crossbowmen. So, it is possible to upgrade levels of these units without depending on our pulls of mercenary orders. Plus, by refreshing shop we get access to other valuble and hard-to-get items (for exampe, metal bars for upgrades of our equipment). We definitly need gold to buy all that we need, but, in the long run, I think, it is a better way than just to buy new generals.

andrei, Just to be clear. Unit are available in mercenary pool/exchange when you progress to certain chapter. You can exchange unit not available in the mercenary if you "unlock" the unit. 3 orders of chivalry are available once you reach 9-1 so that's why he can exchange it. 6Johnny23, Congratulation!

Is it worth it to invest in the templars at this point of the game (as a f2p)? Or should we continue investing to max out our noble cavalry? Considering templars would require a large amount of souls to unlock and upgrade to a decent level.

I would say save soul for templar and don't invest extra in noble. You will need templar for end game, but you need good level noble to keep you competitive in territory in the mean time... Varangian, woad raider, ravenna is a good unit too. There is a discord player post a formula regarding dmg calculation in game, but it's a bit complex for me to be bother with . As I watch replay, I can say that those tier 6 unit are quite powerful under skillful player's command, my AI defensive unit in attack mode being tear apart easily (I only level up the city level so my defensive wasn't as strong as it should be anyway, but it was impressive that they able to beat me with half power. But if you don't care about pvp aspect, you can do whatever you want as long as you stick with the game. Whatever you did that you cannot redo using save/load, you can earn the resource over time.
