Hi all. I have yet to even download the game, despite playing the EW/WC series for about 9 years now. Can anyone please brief me on its quality, major mechanical changes, and that kind of thing? Also, is there any desire by anyone to start speedrunning it (what I enjoy ) or other records? Hope WC5 is soon, too!

Conquests are easy to complete, but it becomes a race on whether who could do it faster. Justinian is recommended for speed running because he has lobbyist, which boosts relations, which is benefial when you need to ally with a nation. Mobility works very differently in this game. You can always attack two times if your unit is in the same spot. However, you can only attack 1 time or even 0 times when you try to attack after moving without mobility buff or units like Melee cav. Overall, the first few campaigns are pretty sh***y in quality. They only get better on later. There is no tech in game, but you have to upgrade and invest in mercernary and regular units. This is equally important as generals. The good f2p generals are Cnut, El Cid, Alfred, Roland, Narses, and Justinian. War drums are worth saving for in this game to prepare for campaigns like House of Normandy, Pharoh's Treasure, Solomon's Treasure, Hard mode after House of Normandy, etc. Overall I would rate, 7.5/10

I haven't played wc2 and wc3 before. However, I would put unmodded Wc4 at a 7/10 because it seemed fun at time I played it, but too difficult for my liking at the beginning. For Ew4 I would put it as 7.5/10 because it was pretty fun because of the extensive conquests, but once again it was pretty hard. For Ew5 I only played it once or twice and got bored, Idk about other, but I would rate only 4/10. For Ew6 1804, I would rate 5.5/10 because it really just seemed like the worse version of Ew4. For Ew6 1914, it was actually pretty good in my opinion, would rate as 8/10.
