I think this game has too many mechanics to be fun. I think EW6 is better. Anyone else has thoughts?

Tis game doesn't require too much to understand. EW6 has like 4 mechanics that EW7 doesn't. Challenge, skill upgrades, military cards and tech. Whilst EW7 has 8 IAP generals, 3 battle passes, special items, Hero Legends, Territory Mode, Bonds, Active/Passive skills, Unit recruitment, Optional Campaigns, 6 unit types, mercenaries and war gear. I don't want F2P HoI4: Medieval with IAP, I want something simpler.

Still much more playable than Ew6 1804. The conquests are hard asf. The campaigns are also harder. You have to grind your *Auto corrected* off to get good gens in EW6 1804. Overall, it is just suffering. Although you have a lot of Iap's in Ew7, good f2p gens are much easier to get. Plus hero Legends are pretty common in Ew6 1804 too and they're much harder.

I'm not saying EW6 is easy, just simple. EW6 is easy to learn, hard to master. EW7 is in the unfortunate situation where it has loads of mechanics but is easy, which is not ideal. HoI4 is great because it's complex and hard. EW6:1804 is great because it's simple and hard. Tic-Tac-Toe is great (for young children) because it's simple and (very)easy. EW7 is (imho) not great because it is complicated, but not difficult. It would be great for FPS players or for people who like the theme. I am neither.

Plus, Trafalgar and 32 slots! You have infinite slots in Ew7 Not the point. I'm saying that EW6 is now a lot easier due to Trafalgar grinding and 32 slots in Crimea, so EW6 isn't that hard either.

EW6 is couple of years old. In couple of years grinding in EW7 will most likely be also easy. You only need to wait as You did with EW6

Nah Ew7 ain't that friendly to beginners. The first few campaigns aren't that easy to complete for beginners, preventing them from getting meta and op gens like Massena, Karl, Murat, etc. This makes most player quit and prevent people from even enjoying the game to the fullest extent. However, the first of few campaigns of Ew7 are relatively easy and allow you to work out the game mechanics first and get some good gens like Roland. This is all to prepare you for harder campaigns. Although the conquests are easy, but this allows for much more challenges and speed runs. Although, normal campaigns aren't that hard, players can truly have a challenge in some of the harder campaigns in game. This game is much more friendly for newcomers to the ET franchise to handle and learn the rope in comparison to Ew6 1804, which is designed for hardcore Wc4 and Ew4 veterans.

Sure I don't know about the grinding in EW 6 but with the past experience with the other games I'd keep EW 7 as the best easy tech made so far

If I can beat the first campaign in one day and the next two in a week (which I did on my second run), it's not terrible. WC4 is too hard, EW7 is too easy.

EW7 is definitely too easy, but to say that WC4 is too hard is a bit of a stretch. It is around 1804 level difficulty in my experience.
