To understand the general board one must back track to the other boards and even further than that,to the forum itself and to its membership.
The lion share of the membership comes from game knowledge threads,that is to say random players get stuck on a mission or need information on how to do something and find us,usually from a search engine like google search.So the players finally get their answer (thanks to the pro players such as yourself!) and realize they discover even more stuff that they needed and pretty soon find themselves coming back so often that they might as well register and be a members.
So far so good..still with me? It's not nap time.. wake up!
This is why all the game boards are very focused and usually strict with no spam tolerated or highjacks of the main topic That's what brings members: precise,well packaged and informative specific game content,often illustrated with pics too!
Now,because the game boards are so focused and feel a little restrictive we needed a board where the members could be more at ease and could open all kind of topics and basically just have fun,thus the general board. It is by design meant to be accessible to all,very open and with very few restrictions,a place for members to express themselves.
Due to its open design,it is also the hardest board to moderate (along with the RP board) as sometimes the membership pushes the envelope a little too far.
TLDR: I already have a favorite from the list of suggestions that you guys posted but I will wait longer in case others have more ideas.

gurgitate, not regurgitate. I prefer original spam than repeated spam. But then... only Adam in the garden of Eden could truly say that his words were the original while everyone else risks repeating what had been said in the past.
