Can you all please share your units' combination by general? I am confused and not sure about the best combination. I am using three Mamluks for Saladin and Narses (no equipment) but is it better to mix one woad raiders and two mamluks? What is the best combination for Alfred or Roland or Baldwin (no equipment)? Also other major generals... If you share your combination, that will be helpful for other players like me.

We don't have access to all units and there is a significant gap between levels of different units. For example, in my opinion the best composition of Alexander Nevsky's legion is "Boyars/Templars/Teutons" but I use three Cataphracts instead because it is my best Cavalry unit so far. So, in other words, the best compositions for each player heavily depend on the quality and levels of troops at his disposal.

IMO cataphracts or noble cavalry better. PS. Or defence variant with Swiss halberdiers, Nevsky have pole arm and good infantry points.

Of course I'm gonna use Noble Cav but in case my Teutons match the figures of the Noble Cav one day I'll include them instead.

If a general has rapid march (Narses, Philip, Alfred, Aetius) you can add 1 fast unite in their legion. Since Alfred is already a cavalry general, he is already fast, but he can be even faster if you add 1 melee cavalry unit. For example, give Alfred 1 Noble cavalry (because whole legion gets bonus from his weapon Of I'm correct), 1 Templars and 1 Teutons for mobility. For Narses, 1 fast archer unit (whatever it might be, Woad, Mamluks, Camel Archers...), 1 counter infantry because of bond with Belisarius and 1 other archer unit (preferably strongest one, so let's say conquistadors). For Philip, also 1 fast archer unit, and 2 strongest archer units.

For Aetius, maybe one fast archer unit and 2 counter infantry units too... But it all really depends on levels of your current troops.

I have 2 noble cavalry 7 level and 1 cataphracts 8 level at Nevsky squad, damage in his hard hero story 5-1 was 1377, today I open Boyar cavalry and change 1 noble cavalry for Boyar start level, damage now 1606, I don't understand why, maybe unique weapon bonus +20% goes for all, not only for Boyar. Triple Boyar damage of course less than 1377. PS. Yes. I have Cnut with 3 Varangians, damage at this mission was 677, sell 1 and add 1 Viking raiders, damage now 806, bonus from raiders goes to all legions, not for 1. That's why we need 1 profile legion with bonus from unique weapon in squad. That's why Narses need Garrison spearmen. 👌

For me. If you want something for all kinds of units..like a round fighter
Alfred = defense infantry-noble cavalry-melee cavalry Anti charge cavalry-Anti melee infantry-Anti archer/cavalry archer
