I have wanted to make a GCR mod including generals who lived before the time period of GCR (before the Second Punic War), but as no one had made any sort of a GCR mod, I didn't do it. But now as Gerd von Rundstedt made his great mod, I decided to try making what I had wanted to for long. To my own surprise, I was actually able to open the APK and edit it (with the help of Vader's guides), but I still have a few questions I hope Darth Vader, Arthur Currie or 𝘛𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘴𝘬𝘺 could answer. 1. I know infinite medal mods are not allowed, but am I allowed to increase medal income if it is not meant to just give more medals in a normal game? The generals would be different and the increased medal income would be meant to make it easier to test and use the different generals. 2. Can I edit the values of skills? For example Jungle Fighting at level 4 gives a +20 dmg on jungles, but I'd want to double the effect so that it would give +40 dmg on jungles. 3. How can I change the names of units and generals? 4. Can I create new units? 5. How hard is it to change general portraits? And how do I do it? 6. How hard is it to edit Conquests/Campaigns, and what about them can I edit? I'm sorry for the question flood, but I would really appreciate if someone could answer those and future questions I may need to ask. Then about the things I plan to change amd the generals I am planning on making. I'd appreciate any suggestions and advice on what generals/units to add/edit and what skills to add on them. Generals I plan on adding (atleast) Egypt: - Narmer/Menes - Khamawaberwy or something like that - Ramesses II
Carthage: - Malchus - Hanno the Navigator - Hanno the Great - Hamilcar Barca
Persia: - Cyrus the Great - Darius the Great - Xerxes - Darius III
Athens: - Miltiades - Themistocles - Pericles - Nicias - Alcibiades
Rome: Something, I haven't really done amy research on this.
Sparta: - Leonidas I - Lysandros - Brasildas
Macedonian: - Philipp II - Alexander III - Parmenion - Krateros - Seleucus - Antigonos - Antipatros - Ptolemy
Others: - Epaminondas - Pelopidas - Mitawalli II - Lars Porsenna - Croesus - Gelon - Hieron - Timoleon

Kliment Jefremovitš Vorošilov, 1. Sure 2. Maybe, didn't try yet 3. You can in Stringtable_en.ini 4. No you cannot 5. Generals portraits are in Assets/Images/, Its Probably the easiest modification, i recommend deleting the General Shadows when editing them. 6. You can't edit the conquests for now, Due to the lack of knowledge. You can always try editing them (Erebus a well-known, Experienced and respected modder tried without any success) P.S : You'll need a Alipay or a wechat Account to login (ask Gerd von Rundstedt for this part)

1. Like giving more medals for a campaign? Sure thing. 2. Yup, you'll go to SkillSettings, for Jungle Fighting you will have Skill ID 1031, then you will find it's buff ID next to the Skill ID, in this case 2031. Then you go to BuffSettings, find that ID, and then edit what falls under "value". 3. That will be under ArmySettings and GeneralSettings respectively. Under Army, you change the Chinese Name as far as I can tell, and under the general names, you change what is listed as "Ename". 4. If you try you will have to upload new pictures, animations, and the like. It's possible, but I would very much not recommend it. 5. Hard, but you can do it by replacing the image file for a specific general and then adding your own. 6. You can't unless you know hexadecimal and/or have an XML editor. I really am looking forward to this, I love the Peloponnesian Wars and am a huge Alciabades fan. One last thing, for Sparta I think that you should add Archidames, who lent his name to the Archidamian War.

Gerd von Rundstedt , Arthur Currie , thank you both for answering. I won't try anything too difficult, so I believe there won't be any modified campaigns/conquests. For now, I'll also give the generals a portrait that kind of looks like them (for example, Philipp II has Pompey's portrait). Unit editing is something I want to do, so it's nice to know you can rename them. Right now, I haven't done anything except improved all infantry units through training. Also, I'll add Archidames for sure.

Gerd von Rundstedt, The modding community has NO knowledge in Hex editing for GCR, even if you have hex knowledge.

I figured out, even though I can't (even if someone could, I couldn't anyways, I'm such a dumbass) edit the conquest maps, I think I can edit the generals included and add for example Miltiades for Macedonia to make it a sort of Athens in the Punic War conquest.

You sure can, under CountrySettings.

I thought he was just talking about the names of the different powers.

I thought he was just talking about the names of the different powers. Yes, for example, simply change the name of Aetolian League to Peloponnesian League.

In the last years I would have bet on a sort of prequel of GCR as a new easytech game, stretching from the first Persian invasion of Greece to the beginning of the Punic Wars, including the Peloponnesian War, Alexander's conquest of the Persian empire and the expansion of Rome against Etruscans and Samnites. They could have called it Great Conqueror Sparta and have Alexander, Xerxes and maybe Pericles or Leonidas as IAPs. Alas, this game never came, and it doesn't seem to be in their plans to make it. Probably they will work on ew7 for a year and then they will yield to the popular demand and start working on World Conqueror 5 Parking Stars 3...This project would be just a mod of GCR, but I welcome it, and I hope that it won't be too difficult to create, Kliment Jefremovitš Vorošilov. Good luck!

Why make a new game when you can make money with an old one.

Maybe the release of EW6 1914 and GOG3 in the following 12 months might have diverted the players' attention somehow, I don't know. For the mod, take it easy

The problem is, after they improved medal income and added Belisarius and new items, there wasn't really a reason for many to buy anything, I believe, since all the f2p stuff was so great. Now they've added like atleast 5 IAP things.
