I think it depends only on time at your disposal. For sure, we don't need Li Jing and his weapon so urgently that farming Epic battles all day long is the only choice we have. He is a good general but I don't feel like I need another cavalry general right now at all costs.

The best advantage of Ji Ling is his unique unit is the 2nd best (IMO) charge cav unit until now. Jet black + Templars is the best combination for Charge cav gen and with Ji Ling we don't need to add lower unit into legion to active unique items. For those who don't use Templars, he's not that great.

It depends on you, i farm epic battles -150pts. that's how i knew the required points, I'm not after the item but the medal and mercenary order, just hate the target for range upgrade reward gonna sell them.
Do daily quest, finish hero legends/treasure quest, wait for the next campaign and you'll get there.
Li jing is a no for me even i get the item. I have john 1, edward and the old celebrity swageon.

For those who don't use Templars, he's not that great. I tried a few unit combinations and it seems that within charge cavs, jet black is put in front of templars (and even boyars) so I would need them at high levels to survive or put noble cav in front of them. A pity we can't have them just for their "+2 mobility after charge" skill.
And Li Jing is a valued member (3rd cav) in my expedition team with his active, Leadership, and Roland's weapon.

Glad he's a valued cavalry general on my team with his item. Also still do not have Charlemagne.
Now to see whether Jb are worth grinding for, if not I will turn him into melee cavalry general.
