I've been really struggling with Edward I's hero legend. I flew through Timur no problem on Normal/Hard, but for whatever reason Edward is kicking my butt, even on Normal.
I got to Part 2 Stage 2 of Crusades. There are basically three paths filled with hordes of elephants, super elephants on a fort, and archer towers that mess you up. I broke through the middle section, and then hordes more of elephants started pouring down both sides. By the end of the match, I wasn't even to the second set of turrets, let alone the cities you are supposed to capture, and was about to lose my starting city, and all my units were dead.
I don't even know how to start with this one. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Ended up making it through, but it took a lot of wardrums and I didn't feel good about it. I have no idea how I will make it through hard. If anyone is curious, here's what I did: Step 1: Send 4-5 of your deployed troops up through the middle. The archer tower can't hit you if you are on the left side of the fort. Leave 2-3 (or whatever the rest) of your deployed troops behind on the upper and lower archer forts to defend. Step 2: For me, after taking the middle fort, the bottom Elephants/Mamluks started to advance. I had my defending troops defend, and my attacking troops go through the middle and behind the flowing troops to attack the eastern/right-most fort. You take a few turret hits but tents help heal you up somewhat. Step 3: Once you push through the right fort, go up to the next fort and through the turrets. Here, there are a ton of mamluk archers and three turrets that can hit you at once, so get ready to lose some wardrums . Try not to lose units though since they're not replaceable. At the same time, the top should be really pushing back at your home base, so you might be screwed down there. Come to think of it, not sure if you actually need to defend it or not. Step 4: Use Alfred/Richard or whoever you have to push through to the goal city, using alfred's special on the city and any other specials you have on the mamluks inside. Try to eliminate the turrets first if you can, but those are lower priority. Also, the forts around the city will constantly replenish mamluks every turn if you don't sit a unit on them, so that sucks too. Step 5: Take the city and win! There's only one red circled city. It's hard to see with all the mamluks there, but its the one with a general on it.

Just go middle then turn right - the path should be empty at that point! (Enemies will be attacking your base). No drums are required even on hard.

I've been completely stuck at the Welsh Rebellion, as another user on this forum was too. Not enough turns to get to the yellow circle.

You should kill two enemies in the middle, then wait until right route is empty (turn 9) and go there. There is enough time to take a city, you don't even need IAP generals.

Or did you mean this mission? It's even more easier, just use Aetius to reach a yellow circle.

I have found a tactical trick here and it is possible to defend our base with relatively weak forces even on hard. The key is to emulate a battle of Thermopylae on our left flank. There are many mounted archers on enemy's side, and if we can damage their legion without killing them they are stuck. Example Make sure that our ranged units don't defend the passage. We don't attack the enemy just defend a way. Our best DD attack on the right meantime We do absolutely nothing in defence, so 2 or 3 generals are enough to defend the passage

Don't be discouraged I did it with Cataphracts lvl 15, Varangians lvl 15 and Imperial Bow Cavalry lvl 10. Perhaps you should concentrate your efforts on upgrading your troops.

Sometimes it is not about the right strategy or tactics, but about the power of your team.

Thank You, i will try to update all my troops . i'm also stuck in that stage but maybe i can finish it with many war drums. maybe just waiting for ET to make it easy. Cataphracts 10 varangan 15 IBC (no level) it seems to me the stage impossible to finish without wardrums like the battle of evesham
