Today, I will be comparing all relevant Axis Armor Generals. Criticism is welcome.
This will be split into 2 categories, generals best used on Medium Tanks (MTs) and generals best used on Heavy Tanks (HTs).

Medium Tankers
IAP. Manstein
Price: $6.99
Promotional stars: 4
Stars: 5 in Armor, 2 in Infantry, 3 in Artillery, 3 in Air, 3 in Movement
Skills: Armored Assault (Gold), Blitzkrieg (Gold), Panzer Group (Gold)
Strengths:
- Best IAP for non-Gerdys
- Godly damage
- Aura
- Good survivability
- Good movement
Weaknesses:
- IAP
- Inconsistent damage
- Inconsistent survivability
Analysis:
Best MT in the game. AA for crits, Blitz for survivability, and Panzer Group to buff up Rommel and Guderian. Quite the powerhouse. His IAP package is the best, he has enough movement... What's not to love? His IAP-ness. The best IAP for most, but Gerdy likes Eisenhower most.

Thanks for reading!
Price: 1020
Promotional stars: 4
Stars: 4 in Armor, 2 in Infantry
Skills: Blitzkrieg (Gold), Anti-Armor (Gold), Tide of Iron (Gold)
Strengths:
- Good damage
- Good survivability
- Amazing movement
- Tank-killer
Weaknesses:
- Inconsistent survivability
- Expensive
Analysis:
He is objectively the best F2P MT general in this game. His ToI offers damage, his Blitzkrieg offers survivability, and he has 3 stars in movement. What else could you want? Well maybe consistent survivability, but otherwise he is the perfect MT general. No other general has both ToI and Blitzkrieg. Mandatory, at least for those who aren't Lucklife or stoic .
Endorsements: Everyone (except maybe Gerdy )

2. Hoth
Price: 645 medals
Promotional stars: 3
Stars: 3 in Armor, 2 in Infantry, 1 in Movement
Skills: Scout (Gold), Armored Assault (Gold), Ace Forces (Gold)
Strengths:
- Decent damage with AA
- XP man
- Good price
Weaknesses:
- Inconsistent damage
- No survivability
- Why do you need an XP man?
Analysis:
Well, well, well. The 'did questionable things in the Eastern Front' guy himself. His AA gives him damage, but his other two skills aren't that good. This isn't Minecraft, leveling up can be replaced by tech upgrades. However, you have no other option other than Graziani (or maybe Heinrici) for second Axis MT, which is why most don't buy a second Axis MT. He also has no survivability.

3. Graziani
Price: 620 medals
Promotional stars: 3
Stars: 3 in Armor, 2 in Artillery, 1 in Air
Skills: Street Fighting (Gold), Rumor (Gold), Blitzkrieg (Silver)
Strengths:
- Pretty good damage in cities
- Artillery hybrid
- Good price
Weaknesses:
- Poor damage outside of cities
- Poor survivability
- No movement
- Rumor sucks
Analysis:
In my opinion, better than Hoth. But this thread isn't about my opinion. His damage in cities is good, consistent and works in counterattack. He also acts as a mini-chuikov in artillery. However, his damage outside of cities is poor and he has only silver Blitzkrieg, but that is still better then the amount of survivability that Hoth has (zero). He also has no movement, and Rumor sucks. Honestly, neither this guy nor the warcrime man (Hoth) nor Heinrici is worth buying. Save your medals for Guderian.

4. Heinrici
Price: 390 medals
Promotional stars: 3
Stars: 3 in Armor, 2 in Movement
Skills: Crossfire (Silver), Victory Rush (Silver)
Strengths:
- Good damage in both attack (with VR) and counterattack
- Enough movement
- Very good price
Weaknesses:
- Bad damage without VR
- No survivability
Analysis:
Good cost-efficiency. In my opinion, worse than both Hoth and Graziani but far cheaper. His VR and Crossfire gives decent damage in attack and in counterattack. His movement is also better than both Hoth and Graziani. However, his damage is no hero without VR and he has no survivability. If you need a secondary Axis MT, he is decent. But Bock is good and free.

5. Messe
Price: Free
Promotional stars: 2
Stars: 2 in Armor, 2 in Infantry, 1 in Air
Skills: Camouflage (Gold), Armored Assault (Silver), Desert Fighting (Silver)
Strengths:
- Free
- Decent damage in deserts
- Infantry hybrid
Weaknesses:
- Poor damage out of deserts
- Poor survivability (Camouflage? Really?)
- No movement
Analysis:
The best cheap general of WC4 and the best WW2 Italian general IRL, has been nerfed into a pretty awful general. In 1939, he is a decent MT general. But by 1941 East Guderian somewhat replaces him, and Messe becomes second rate. In 1942 Pacific, you don't have enough slots to use him. And in Africa, you should have Rommel. Bock's use-by date is far later than Messe's. Messe has AA and Deserts, which makes him alright in Africa. But otherwise all he has is Camo and AA. Then, he seems a bit ... not good, especially since he lacks movement.

6. Bock
Price: Free
Promotional stars: 2
Stars: 2 in Armor, 2 in Artillery, 1 in Air
Skills: Leadership (Gold), Plain Fighting (Silver)
Strengths:
- Free
- MT stacks for 18 coins
- Decent damage with PF
Weaknesses:
- No survivability outside of the factory
- No movement
Analysis:
An epic (and free) tanker with cheap recruitment cost. His damage isn't amazing, but on plains it can be quite good. Unfortunately he has poor survivability when away from a factory and no movement, so he is not a replacement for Guderian. Still quite good though.

- Very good price

- Tank-killer
- Infantry hybrid (kinda)
Weaknesses:
- Lackluster
- No survivability
- No movement
Analysis:
Bock, but not free (and arguably worse). His damage is alright, but he has no survivability or movement. In the market for a cheap second Axis MT? Get Heinrici.

Stats: 4 in Armor, 3 in Artillery, 2 in Air, 3 in Movement
Skills: Desert Fighting (Gold), Tide of Iron (Gold), Panzer Leader (Gold)
Strengths:
- Output is as godly as Gerdy's logic
- Amazing movement
- Emergency artillery general
Weaknesses:
- No survivability
- Deserts are niche
- Expensive
Analysis:
Still not bad, but definitely outclassed by Guderian on MT. Has PL, but PL not as amazing on MT due to the fact that MTs have only 1 range. Only for when you don't have HTs.

Analysis:
The best F2P tank general in this game. He has that ToI-PL combo which just makes him absolutely OP. Crazy damage and a better general than Guderian. However, Guderian is usually bought first as MTs are more common in early game. And Rommel should be bought around Africa to maximize his efficency. Anyways, Rommel has 3 movement stars and 3 in artillery making him an arty general in desert challenges without HTs. He may not have survivability, but HTs are tanky and have 2 range, so that is not a problem. Even more mandatory than Guderian.

2. Rundstedt
Price: 915 medals
Promotional stars: 4
Stars: 2 in Armor, 4 in Infantry, 2 in Artillery, 2 in Air
Skills: Fire Suppression (Gold), Infantry Leader (Gold), Plunder Supply (Gold)
Strengths:
- Very good survivability
- Plunder Supply best on HTs
Weaknesses:
- Bad damage
- Expensive
- No movement
Analysis:
Say Whaaat? Yeah, the Discord's punching bag is also a HT general. His FS/Plunder combo is great, but his damage is lackluster, he has no movement and you are wasting a powerful and expensive inf gen on a heavy tank. Personally, I would not really use Rundstedt on HT, but your guess is as good as mine. His HT usage does improve his value at least.

- Why do you need an XP man?
- Lacks PL
Analysis:
Hoth can also be put on a HT, but he is not very good. He lacks PL and really only has XP and crit skills. Crit skills are better on MT (as they work in counterattack), so now Hoth is pretty much an XP supercollector that can be replaced with tech. The heavy tank would be far better used with Rommel or even Bock. Hoth is pretty terrible on HT.

Analysis:
The reason he is even considered on HT is because Camo helps HT survivability. But HTs are pretty much tanky, expensive and harder-hitting light artillery. So survivability is not really must-have. His damage in desert is ok, but when you do get HTs Bock takes priority. Messe almost never goes on HT.

Strengths:

- HT stacks for 25 coins
- Decent damage with PF
Weaknesses:

Analysis:
A strong HT gen with 25 coin off recruiting. His damage is alright, and I would say he is a contender for second Axis HT in the rare occasion where there are 2 HTs in an Axis campaign. Usually, though, there is only 1 HT, and it is occupied by Rommel. HT Bock is a bear you never get to use, as you have access to a beast.

He is pretty good. Plain Fighting + Anti Armor make him actually similar to Guderian on HT apart from movement (as Blitz is near useless on HT). That being said, Rommel and Bock exist. So List on HT is also a rare sight.

Still alright, but lacks PL. Rather embarrassingly, Guderian is close to List here (apart from movement) as Blitz is redundant on HT. But still alright. He is 1000% better on MT though, and Rommel outclasses him by a long shot here. Still has some damage and great movement.
