After thinking of all pros and cons I decided to dismantle fragments of Templars and Mamluks. Maybe a mistake but I think it is possible to replace these two overhyped units with cheap and accessible alternatives. It is a gamble to a certain extent but I hope it will pay off.

this is unheard of! never! my mamluks are to high to abandon now. but my opinion regarding templars shifted close to blasphemy as well: unlock it. put 1 unit into support legion of example matilda of b or antonina together with a teutonic night and keep them in back row during expedition. thats it. my regard of templars went from, wooooow, incredible! to: yes you can stand around in the backrow if you want.

Templars is strong in all of charge cavalry but weak against any defence infantry .
Mamluks is annoying because of high dodge rate, but now its enemy is another ranged cavalry Imperial Bow Cavalry and melee infantry.
As of now I have lv5 templars and lv2 mamluks and i feel it is a waste as i don't use them as they are weak.
It is indeed a blasphemy.

And I am happy for my investment of Mamluks and Templars. (btw I think you get 20 mamluks after Ottoman Invasion hard mode)

How many fragments did you have?

How many fragments did you have? 25 fragments of each type. Not much, but they were rather worthless without actually using these units. I play EW7 since the game was released and I evaluate the number of those fragments I could get so far as extremely low. I couldn't even unlock these two units after several months of playing. I haven't bought any additional fragments from Territory shop, though.

Have both lvl6 and they not better other t4-t5 units at lvl 9-10. I believe so. Both Noble cavalry and Cataphracts always can potentially be several levels higher. Obviously lvl 18 Templars are better than any rivals of the same level. But who can upgrade Templars to such high levels? Definitely not f2p players. And, in general, it is a challenging task for any player...

Well, you have lvl12 imperials. I see nothing wrong here.

Well, you have lvl12 imperials. I see nothing wrong here. True, but by dismantling Mamluks I lost an opportunity to test "Mamluks-IBC-Mongolian Raiders" formation. Yet IBC and Mongols are more easy to get, so I decided that two of them will be enough for mounted/ranged warfare. And, if you ask me, these two are more interesting units than Mamluks.

Yeah, as for now Mameluks are just useful in Expedition against those bots with no imperials. In other cases even IBCs lvl6 are a serious thread for lvl14 mamluks…

Truly a blasphemy it is. For real, as a pay player, I could easily swap mameluks for IBC without losing much value. Templars though? Unforgiveable sin

Ravenna crossbowmen have the same legion effect, we have Rhinoceros and Constantine's hammer. It is also possible to unlock Rapid march with gems (or to use generals who already have Rapid march) to increase the speed of a legion up to the speed of Mongolian Raiders...

If you don't have Richard or Saladin I think you did the correct thing. Its not smt I would ever do, but y, I do have both and it makes a huge difference on the rate we get these troops.
Neither of those troops are F2P friendly, as they're very hard/expensive to amass without their respective hero legends and later raids, which are both IAPs.
Noble Cavalry is solid and way easier to amass. Less so for Mongolian Raiders, but they're a very solid alternative to Mamluks, and still easier to get than Mamluks (main source of these is exchange and daily check-in on check-in events). Else you can go for foot archers, like you mentioned with Ravenna, which are way easier to amass.
But if you already had 25 of each... although its a lot of scrap indeed, maybe you could've waited until unlock and then scrap the rest, you get a bunch of points for unlocking and there's also achievements on "unlock x amount of units". But y, not sure its worth as these are the most expensive units.
