What are you guys currently running on your archer generals?
I have both Timur and Saladin with Mongolian Raiders (MR), Imperial Bow Cavalry (IBC) and Mamkluks. But with my still fairly low MR I'm considering going back to my lvl 16 woad (mostly for the Chase). Since these guys don't have forced march the extra mobility from Mongolian Raiders seems unnecessary.
Narses is using Garrison Spearmen, IBC and MR. Here the extra mobility has me choosing the Raiders over Mamkluks and Woad. IBC seem like a must within the current archer meta.
El Cid:
Varangians, Conquistators (personally I'm using Mamluks here because I don't even have these unlocked), IBC
Don't have him but my Atilla would probably be something like:
MR, Ravenna, IBC
Keshig, Ravenna, IBC
Again having that unit for the extra mobility.
Is the forced march via Gems worth the invest on e.g. Timur, Saladin or El Cid?
Interested in your general opinions on the archer meta.
How do some of the other not mentioned Generals hold up in the meta? What units deserve more love from me?
