Only for John Marston The Armed Forces of the Republic of France have successfully defeated the Nationalist Army of Spain led by Francisco Franco, not to conquer or subdue Spain, but to liberate it from the Fascist threat. Now, we wish to establish friendly relations with the legitimate government of Spain, proposing the following terms. 1. To compensate for the losses of material and almost 200,000 soldiers, the non-Spanish Basque Country, and, with it the factory of Bilbao will be annexed to the French Republic. 2. The former possessions of the Kingdom of Spain in Morocco and Western Sahara, as well as the Canary Islands will be annexed to French Morocco. 3. France will annex the city of Tarifa in the Strait of Gibraltar, and will, due to the current unstable political situation in Europe, gain full military access to the province of Cadiz and the island of Majorca for 50 pages.  These requests for land may seem harsh, but I hope the Spanish government understands the full extent of the French efforts and losses suffered to free the country. The requests in no way are an ultimatum or meant to exert diplomatic pressure. More important than the terms above, we demand and offer some diplomatic terms: 4. The French and Spanish republics will enter a mutual military alliance, and commit to defending each other with all the required force against all external threats. 5. The government of Juan Negrín will step aside and democratic elections will be held in Spain. 6. Spain will not engage in any diplomatic activity with Austria-Hungary and will recognise it as a power initiating unjust aggression and diplomatic tension. 7. In exchange, we only get recognition and an alliance? I have a counterproposal. You get all the colonies of Spain in exchange for us getting all of mainland Spain and Baleric Islands. I'll even agree to not negotiate with Soviet Union.

I know that there are many in your country who believe in the communist cause. Declare yourself as a true communist country. Me, the USSR, and Poland have been working out an alliance, one to ensure the spread of communism world wide. I am an emperor, and shall remain one for the time. But I see communism as the best thing for my people once I am gone, and as such shall end the empire after my death.
What we need at the moment is your help in defeating the French menace, who wears the skins of democracy while colonizing the African peoples, and invading countries such as Albania. After the war we shall give over France to their communist leaders, and free the colonies! You may claim Portugal if you so wish, and bring the to the communist cause.
So what do you say, Marston. Interested?

However, I ask for military access to Tarifa to guard the Strait of Gibraltar. Also, negotiations with Austria-Hungary and the Soviet Union will have to be ended, at least friendly ones. |

Only for Kliment Jefremovitš Vorošilov : I don't currently have any plans to ally with the Hungarians or the Soviets. I am currently focusing on developing my own defenses, although if the Soviets and Hungarians put joint pressure on me I won't have much of a choice because I'm surrounded.
Also I'm off until Tuesday so I won't be doing anything at least until then. |

Poland integrates the government of Polish Lithuania into its own government. They will remain semi-autonomous and have a representation in the house of the republic. We begin to extend our defensive line into Lithuania.

However, I shall never forget the aid the Communist Union has provided to us for overthrowing the Fascist rebels. Your gracious offer will always be in my mind, but I can't join your cause right now. You shall be the first to know if I decide my mind, your majesty. Please be prepared though because France might attack me as their terms are provocative in nature.
Before taking my leave, I warn you that Poland is negotiating a possible alliance with France. You might want to watch out.

The battle of Istanbul is finally over, and victory ours, but the cost is innumerable. 326,024 infantry have died or been captured and additionally, 362 tanks and 724 guns have been lost. As a result, the 22nd, 24th, and 31st Armies are disbanded and return to France to await to be formed again. The 16th Army and the 6th Armoured Division and Artillery Brigade are reduced in size to cover the rest of the losses. The full 10th and 12th Armies and the 5th Armoured Division and the 5th Artillery Brigade are shipped to Albania for now.

At that point it should be possible for you to encircle any troops left in Spain, or push into the East to encircle the main force. Just consider it once the invasion begins. They cannot defend against us both.
And thank you for your tip. I have contacted Poland's leader about the integration of Lithuania. We shall see what happens.

Though if Poland really betrays us, it will be an unnecessary front for us that will split our focus from our main targets, just like French territory in Baltics. I'd advise you to keep some spare force ready in case Poland attacks, although it isn't urgent since Poland won't available till Tuesday. Still, as they say, better safe than sorry, eh? As for Spain, it is nice to hear. But they are still talking with the French. This may simply mean that they are trying to be friendly with the French until they join to us, or maybe they're playing both sides. I hope it is the former, but still, again better safe than sorry (non-roleplay note: And no, I'm not trying to create paranoia or something like Stalin not trusting anyone  ). Also, you've defined they being surrounded by French as a reason for this, but France has most of its troops outside. And Spanish army is like 700,000. Three of our forces combined, we are more powerful than French. So, it's a little suspicious. Returning to the matter of attacking, via where do you think we should attack? Via your territory? Via Turkey? Or first into the French territory in Baltics (we shouldn't forget this, I have to repeat. It would be really funny for us, if they invaded our capitals while we are attacking forward all out completely unaware lol). I prefer attacking via Turkey, as it is nearer to my mainland, it will be easier for me to reinforce my forces, move, retreat etc. Though, the French army hasn't come near my Caucasian border yet afaik, so I may have to make a landing instead, to, let's say Istanbul (which has a factory). Or, if all the Turkish forces are focused on France, then I can just enter Turkey via my Caucasian border, which would be easier imo. What do you think? |
