Will you aim to use the raw effects to boost a certain gen's output? Or will you use a combination to introduce either a "skill" or another effect like dmg increased when using certain troops?
For example, to boost Cnut and Basil II's mobility, I have used a Ravenna Crossbowman to give them mobility in mountain hexes and to allow 2 attacks and one move within a turn: Attack, move a tile and attack again for low mobility cost terrains.
What gems will you give them? Forced March combination and replace someone with a Mongolian Raider?

i use gems only for dmg. woad raider dmg. charge expert skill. inf expert skill. until now. havent dabled with rapid march yet bc of high gem cost.
i use lombardy halberdiers on cnut and basil for that climb bc its still inf dmg. so nothing exciting sry.
something i will do someday is a gen with strategist and logistics consul skill once i decide which admin weapon to max which seems so wasteful bc i dont own any of the gens.

For exemple i boost justinian with administration for my conquest 😝

Forced march is indeed one of the best to get, but I also use some $unit_type_commander$ skills, master commander. It's easy to give Olga lobbyist lvl2 and goodwill ambasador at the same time.

Does anyone know if hengdao (unit/weapon) benefits from master of assault or master swordsman (or neither)?

Sadly Most skills require Strange gems. To example, swordmaster needs Archer gems. Why??
For Dschingis Khan and subutai, i think raw DMG with archer gems is good. The Skill does Tons of DMG AOE each round.
Is IT possible to canculate the dmg dealt with stats. Maybe 2 more gems with +20 Deal more then a 5% increase from skills

Maybe 2 more gems with +20 Deal more then a 5% increase from skills After a certain point red gems and green gems become better than capability point gems (I would say it has something to do with unit level). Obvious exception for Genghis Khan and Subutai whose active damage is certainly very valuable.
