Could someone familiar with the gems and their efficient usage tell what would be the best way to use them?
Like, when should I choose red gem (%-damage) over capability gems, or the other way around, in terms of damage? And I only just found out that cap points also increase defense, so that would increase cap gems value a little compared to red.
For example, I use only red gems on my Beowulf now, but I wonder if capability would actually be better, what about you?
And what do you prefer on different unit types? (archers/cav/inf)

I considered combinations but a downside is which gems are required for certain combinations. Another is whether it is feasible to construct the necessary gems, especially if high levelled ones are required.
Common combinations I noted in Territory are combinations that give certain gens a skill which enhances their specialisation like Arrow Tactician for archers. Some may choose to go for stacking raw stats instead such as three dmg (red) or a mix of dmg, def and unit (inf, cav or archer).

Yeah but for example the +5% unit damage skill doesn't look that good, if it requires like three high-level gems (especially if they are a bit random for that gen). You can get better result with 3 only lvl2 red gems (+6%).
