How do you stop these generals from doing suicide? I have tried with anything i could (Baldwin, Frederick Barbarossa and other generals with support and heal skills, even equipped with mobility gems and war gears that give mobility) but they are all over the map, waiting to be killed and i can't reach them in time to heal/support them. Olivier V de Clisson dies after round two being encircled by enemies. John Chandos (which appeared after the last update) has initially 9 mobility points, but with rapid march after round two he is boosted up to 12 mobility (due to knights of the garter) and is practically anywhere.
After round 5 or 6 i have only 2 generals left to protect and i have failed the side quest. Can someone who has completed it give me some advice?

Yeah, same here can't protect those suicidal generals. I will just wait for next update to upgrade the units.

Yeah, same here can't protect those suicidal generals. I will just wait for next update to upgrade the units. but most of them are merc units anyway. i have longbowmen on lvl 8. but i dont even care to unlock norman knights and garter for now. i couldnt upgrade garter anyway... thats nothing an update is going to change bc its the regular units that get unlocked further.

My plan is to use the 30 garter fragments reward for easy campaign clear + 20 from territory battles reward +14 from scrolls/souls to get them up to lv6 and by then I might also have enough gold to pay for all the regular unit upgrades.
Long bows are at lv9 (even though not upgraded to fire longbow the pre-spawned ones profit from this) and Normans at lv8 thanks to collecting several rewards, getting them along more valuable units at recruiting and most importantly, not dismantling them.

I used the fastest (Baldwin, Alfred...) Generals that have 12pt movement + Const Hammer lv3 + Whipping Gem, all total 14pts for mobility. I took the cities in blitzkrieg, first the northern one and then the eastern one, make sure that when you attack the city, you capture it in that move, because with the first attack, reinforcements are created for the enemies. In the northern city, put a general who is good for defense (Robert, Belisarius...). I finished the battle in 7 turns, 1 of the 4 generals I was supposed to protect died, and that's the one in the south that we don't control, I think it's impossible to save him.

Baldwin with what units? Because Knights of Holly S with whipping gem equals only 12 pt mobility + Const Hammer = 13 pt mobility, not 14. Also Alfred is not that good for helping those generals (maybe only for taking the cities, but for that i don't use Alfred, for me is much better Richard with siege master lvl 4 and orban cannons lvl 3) But my problem isn't taking down cities fast, because that's easy. The problem is with those generals that die fast and with the enemy spaming units. The only solution i have found for now is just to wait the next update to further upgrade the units, so that those generals have better defence.

The key to this battle is to finish it as soon as possible, I finished it in 7 turns and already lost one suicide general and the other was barely alive, at 20% health. If I had entered turn 8, he would have been dead too, and that is a failure to fulfill the secondary objectives.

ALWA~Dark Prince of Wallachia, Just for that mission Kheshig lv13 and 2 Templar lv17 + best gear and gems (I don't have his unique units, so a Noble Cav would be used instead of a 1 Templar)
