When I played as the Soviet/Poland in 1950, After Scandinavia, Netherlands and Belgium I always go for London before Paris, though. It helps you flank the rest of the enemies imo (and UK is a nuker, so if I went for Paris/Lyon first I risks losing Amsterdam/Bruxelles). Surprisingly London was never retaken. But for playing NATO, UK seems to be extremely passive instead of going crazy with nukes. PRC would be the WTO's counterpart to UK. In my present game with USA '50, PRC had already nuked Manila twice in only 15 turns. Tokyo twice as well. USSR merely nuked Sapporo once and that's it, but they did used a lot of empty missles all over the place, especially poor Sweden. Kind of a surprise experience from the other side as to who does the nuking the most. Anyway, one thing I see is, the AI seems to be nuking cities not in their paratroop range most of the time......

I always go for London first, compared to Paris, since London gives you opportunity to land in Ireland which, in turn leads you to Canada.
I won't recommend anyone to take Paris before London, since the UK starts to go crazy then and after a while its just chaos....

Well, I always found that England was easy to repel back. At that point, I had gained enough production to counter almost anything they did.

For nuke problem place missiles in city and the nuker might change their mind.

You will need the income boosters (gold, steel, and a little oil if you want), aka the wonders for those categories. Naturally, artillery tank missle and air techs makes so much of a difference here as well.

I just get many of my generals out of cities. I know it might seem stupid but they get hit less often (99.8% instead of 99.9%)
