Everytime I start a battle, campaign, legend, epic battle, whatever, the game makes autosave and I can't go back? Is it supposed to be like that? I think I have seen some talk about getting drums back if is goes sideways, or testing new generals and "selling" them by loading save if it is not good?

I donβt think there is a autosave as there is a cloud save feature as it is not happening at my end.

For me always after I have started any battle and go back to the load/save menu, I can only load a save made at exactly same minute, even if I haven't saved manually for a long time?

Okay, now I feel very stupid but I confused the buttons myself...
I thought the lower box is what you can load over your current progress (and that the game makes auto-save there after I quit/end battle), and the upper box only shows your last manual save. But in fact the lower box always shows current moment, and from the left button, you can load the data from the upper box...

Progress in campaigns, conquests and epic battles do auto save locally. You can't correct mistakes by reloading. But items, shops, recruitments, upgrades etc you have to manually upload/download from the cloud. This way you can spend all your war drums in for example a campaign, but exit just before you finish, download from the cloud and jump back in the fight with all drums regained. Just remember to manually save to cloud after a win, or else you will have to redo the mission if you reload. John Lackland's Treasure and generals Hero Legends do not auto save, so the trick can not be applied here.
