What is the best f2p friendly melee cav general (Preferably with an obtainable weapon and a strong unit)?
I was thinking of Baldwin but unfortunately his weapon is not f2p.

I would say easiest to get / earliest f2p is roland. But gao xianzhi hits probably harder, later in the game. I am upgrading him atm and have high hopes… we’ll see if that is confirmed. alfred is good with melee but he needs noble cavalry. I think alexios could be nice too with high level elephants, great to decrease moral, but his weapon will take a while to get, I still dont have it.

Gao seems very good once you get his item (works as a support too since other gens can also benefit from his active).
Alfred is great city-buster, though I wish the noble would go to the backrow. More like charge now I think.
Alexios could be fast morale-dropper with both camel and elephant, though not that high damage.
Roland is solid pick, especially early-game.

sunicas has interception skill, but one of weakest general.
alfred a mixed cav general has item and hero legend
roland has item and a pure melee cav gen.
baldwin has item(iap) and hl good active skill as you can swap then attack.
barbarrosa item(iap)+hl is somehow good in support as its active give unit in expense of his
alexios has item+hl but you will get it late in game. has rapid march.
gao is good in terms of indirect attack because of its active

I'd say Alfred, although he is mainly charge cavalry. But he has rapid march so he doesn't suffer a lack of mobility

F2P Friendly (that is usable for combat)? Most likely Roland. Easy to get weapon, perfect first general.
Best (F2P)? I would say Gao. Certainly a rising force.
