The problem is that if I deploy him with the units I have given him, he is too far away and arrives too late. If I put him on one of the existing troops, he dies too soon. I can perhaps upgrade those troops a little, but they are not very far from level 20. It's a great campaign. Look forward to it. But it is difficult. Have you tried it yet, stoic?

Nope, unfortunately I haven't started part 2 yet.

I finally succeeded today. I deployed Richard on the spot closest to Henry V and Baldwin, Alfred and Ceasar on the 3 existing legions. I also upgraded some units and moved Baldwin in a smarter way.
I have to say that this is a very entertaining and challenging campaign.

I guess I was lucky with the place he was put after Baldwin swapped place with him. And I could also swap with Richard after that, leaving him next to the city and two castles. I used his deter skill twice in a row thanks to Ceasar. Richard destroyed the castle south of the city. I placed Alfred there. He actually dealt a lot more damage to the unit in the city than Richard and his Templars did, even if he was put in charge of an existing unit when I started. After a couple of rounds the city fell and the rest was easy. Good luck.

havent tried hard yet, normal i did with the help of subutai and a million attempts. i just tried to redo the mission and failed hard xD but i am not gonna retry this endlessly now. for sure i sent subutai matilda timur and baldwin to meaux bruce and and strong ranged gens to east we can recruit longbowmen, clearing the cities, and i did use drums. but lol idk anymore and it took so many tries and equipment adjustment. actually have a new idea instead of resetting subutais skill we could try to reset henrys arsonist like i did in an other mission against high hp units. have yet to try it x times to see if there are chances.

The yellow circles means nothing. A bait like in crecy. You must defeat the reinforce enemy in meaux to capture it, triggering the vanishing of borders around paris.
you also need to defend henry by the swap skill of leper king.
Have a high level equipment to destroy the high defence of fortress. Like orbans cannon. Make him have a low morale by charging&detour. It remembers me that high impossible stage of timur.
At the same time you must protect the ally's city. Surround it by your units, kill all the waves. After that the enemy will recruit from city, use that opportunity to attack them.
You can't finish this without wardrums like any other campaigns.
Tips:
you must kill/one shot the reinforce units. Don't make them lose a unit just to be replace by another.
Wait for next update, hoping to fix it or add another green circle/general deployment, its impossible to finish with the game (useless yellow circles) mechanics.
one of the hardest campaign of that chapter. -i didn't finish. I will wait for next update. Units lvl 21-25.

Here's how I beat it: team SE Alfred on the legion containing def inf. Equip him with additional dmg reduction gear and maybe inf gems if the level of this campaign unit is not 20 yet. Cnut might also work for this purpose. He will ultimately stand on the tile next (SE) to Meaux and between the two towers and soak up most of the damage, so his survival is imperative. Also give him the best defensive war gear. Baldwin on the legion with the cav units. Give him Tzimiskes' or Roland's weapon. Forced march gem combo + mobility gem and const hammer/orban cannon lv3 will give him 13 mobility so he can easily save Henry and move your generals in position as well as get in one extra attack. Nevsky (or whoever is your best charge cav gen) as spawned legion. If you manage to pull off 3 attack per turn (gems, war gear and boyars or/and with JB) he should be able to occupy the southern castle and damage the guy sitting in Meaux evenly until you are ready to kill him in one turn and take over. El Cid, Subutai or Timur on the archer legion keep the other enemies busy and prevent Edward from venturing too far.
Needless to say, use war drums freely.
NW team: Make sure you don't loose both allied cities on the same turn and capture them from the enemy once occupied. I had Timur as special guest and El Cid, Narses and Li Jing on normal/castle units but I'm sure other generals could also work.

Any other solutions besides "war drums" or IAPs?
I have made it to Tekewsbury on Normal without Drums, IAPs or even Talents, ignoring Meaux and perfect clearing Montargis and Fallen Angel. Surely someone better has a sharper solution?
