I find it really amusing when Manuel attacks and there's a giant explosion from the Byzantine Grenadiers. He does a bit less damage than Timur, but he's funny so I keep him.

I don't think the firearms expert is quite working. In theory, a Dragoon in Manuel's setup should function as a Mongolian Raider replacement. So why on earth is my Manual now only able to do two attacks instead of three? (Without the help of any other support.)

Can you enlighten me? How do you attack 8 times? Legion: MA+MR+Dragoons. Gear: Rhinoceros lvl 3. Initial mobility = 11, +4 mobility from MR dodge, first attack cost 0, each consequent attack except of the last one costs 2 (-1 with MR, -1 with firearms expert, -1 with gear, +1 mobility is restored after each attack) Maybe I'm missing something, how do you get +4 mobility from MR dodge? 8 attacks are possible anyway with +2 from MR dodge and +1 from MA.
You also forgot to mention rapid march gem combination is needed to achieve 8 attacks.

If you're using Byzantine Flamethrower (9 mobility) I don't think it's possible to attack three times without Dragoon's initial -3, MR +2 after dodge or rhinoceros lvl 3. Or the addition of rapid march/mobility gem if you use MA/Ravenna.

It would be awesome, but I don't think that's the case. Your premise was initial 11 mobility and that's only achievable with rapid march or mobility gem. With 10 initial mobility it's possible to get 7 attacks, but not 8.

What's the best unit combination for manuel, assuming all units are maxed out. Also what do you think is the place of the new units in the meta? Finally, wouldn't it be more beneficial to equip manuel with some canon than rhinoceros?

Time/experience/higher levels of flamethrower are needed, and for the cannon question, I'm not sure about the skill; from reading it sounds like only effective when attacking cities.

This is one of the few Generals that you want to give 5 legions to unlock his full potential. His unique weapon is not easy to pick up, his units are late in the game and hard to upgrade to a useful level, also the troop talent is hard to upgrade because you have to go through Zhuge Battalion. When all this is taken into account, he gets a 4*, otherwise a very interesting and useful General on the battlefield.

His unique weapon has been fixed, without Master Shooter +1 or War Support +1 😡 The game developer has decided the attribute of Manuel I from the previous update, the fixing is just correct the translation, I think I have to go with Master Skirmisher for the skill upgrade to neft him for balance the game since he's a free general
