Spam adds to the conversation, but if it's like a post with less than 5 words or something completely nonsense then...die. I kind of agree to your post however, there should not be a wordlimit to posts because some dont like to spend time writing their posts, if someone answers this with YES or NO IT can be agreeing and therefor not spam rather agreement.

There is a great difference about saying bad spam and good, Bad can be when you have no purpose in the post, and good when IT serves its purpose, to attack me is a bad example of spam. Saying "Yes" or "no" can in particular situations be good for agreeing and adding to the discussion. Can you define spam, because the one you are talking about is pieces of a puzzle @jeanlucpicard Good Spam and nonspam posts add to the conversation. They carry an argument, an opinion, or better yet, a fact or Statistic, like the Damage formula. Bad Spam is the opposite. It does not add anything to the conversation. Outside of opinion polling, a simple "Yes" is not a contribution, unless followed by the reasoning behind it. A "No", without the explanation behind it, is only slightly better, as it might lead to discussion. Simply saying "Yes", "OK" and "Agreed" is the bad spam, and if you just agree to a post and have nothing else to say, say Nothing. This is a forum, and saying (for example) that you agree with someone else's strategy for a mission oes not benefit the guy who's stuck on said mission. If you add that you personally did it differently, that contributes. What distinguishes non-Spam from Good Spam is simpler: is the post on-topic? If it is, and it doesn't fit the bad spam criteria, it's probably not Spam. So yes, you have made bad Spam posts. And my username is Jean-Luc Picard ("mortier"), for future reference.

Agreed. See? How's that bad spam? This is bad spam: S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S A: The first part is bad spam because it adds NOTHING. You aren't providing information, you aren't explaining yourself, there's ZERO content. The second part is gibberish, and thus bad spam. Providing examples of bad Spam in this thread when they are so labeled isn't in itself bad Spam since we're discussing Spam, but we all get the picture by now.

Spam adds to the conversation, but if it's like a post with less than 5 words or something completely nonsense then...die. Exactly. If I stopped at "Exactly" I'd be spamming, but I didn't, so It's OK spam Saying exactly isn't spam. It's providing an independent clause or whatever. Exactly is an idea that stands on its own by showing that you agree. Therefore, it isn't spam.

Many (maybe most) of the major internet forums wont allow single word responses,it's also not cool by the standard netiquette practices. While there is nothing wrong with agreeing with another poster in a such a manner,it tends to leave the impression of either laziness, incapacity to add to the discussion or simply stealth spamming (using an ageement method to raise post count). To get around leaving that bad impression it's better to usually add a "twist" a "flair" a "signature" a "mark" to the agreement post.See..I agree and like what Jean luc had to say but I am also adding my "Saltin was here" mark to that agreement. It makes the posts much more interesting that way,it also opens a window to seing and understanding how people think and why they think the way they do. The agreements posts can also be very short and one can just add a small contribution,a witty remark,a quote by a famous person,a short joke to add hilarity to the post...anything that tells other people that the guy that is agreeing has in fact a pulse and is alive and is not actually Robotron working for Sky-net to take over the world

I agree with Saltin as always.. I think in addition the like button is made for agreeing etc.. so just liking is enough if you dont have to add something imo.. but hé, by liking your post count dont go up, which some of our members have made a big goal itself
