This What If thread is for exploring and fun... ...and to Provoke the Imagination and stimulate Creativity. Feel free to share other curious questions/crazy thoughts.
What if...... You put Sovolovsky .....on a Titan Sub?
This commander has strategic attack and Nuclear expert skills. The Titan has missiles, 2 free nukes and more every 2 rounds?
Fun to imagine playing out things I dont have😁

You can attack but only in ur range, you just cant move out of berlin

I just unlocked the Rocketeer/RPG unit and Im wowwed. What if I put Simo Hayha on it? Though i love Simo on Hawkeye, Im thinking who would go best on this new unit. Simo has Ace sniper+2 range total, and DETERRANCE, -40%damage, this, with Rocketeers'added +2 range, splash damage and -60% disable counter attack and anti armor perks ....well just sounds OP

Yet, I like the idea that we don't have to wait until lvl 6 to get an access to unique perks.

It was just an analogy of 4 words...a weapon similiar to RPGs and a country's soldier at war, based on fact. Not political. But understood. Heretofore, to remain nameless and unspoken. But you have to admit, the Rocketeer here has infra red targeting at max lvl and rocks like the modern RL version😉

What do think if.... ...Monty was given fighting spirit with Rumor instead of Blitzkrieg on an IS-3? Track of thought is..... I use Monty as a defense general on stronghold line in events because of his base skills, elastic defense and crossfire. His +2 mobility perk on elite units also help move along the lines and the IS-3 also compliments his natural counterattack and defense with last unit skill...(but not limited to just that).

Another thought I wouldn't mind some input on is.... What if I substituted Rommel's Rumor for Fortification? Logic: I use Rommel on the T44. T44 has 100% terrain mobility, and Rommel has a +2 mobility perk, making him fast and tough...like Running back, able to penetrate between defenders, capture cities, reach red circle goals, etc...and hold until support arrives if needed. Neither he nor Rommel are the heaviest of hitters and each has a role to play on a team, is my thinking, so why not use their natural perks on units, and with skills, that will help them Reach their max potential. Your Thoughts are appreciated.

I don't know... apparently you have other tank generals who are your main damage dealers. But in my dictionary any tank general who doesn't have PL is a synonym of "blasphemy" It is such a great skill and its synergy with Honor Ribbons and skills like Crossfire is so appealing, that it is almost a crime to prefer other skills to it

I have Manstein with Plain fighting and inspiration and PL, AA,and Plains medals, on a lvl4 King Tiger..and he is in 6th place as a damage dealer with only 797. My Guderian is also maxed, but with inspiration and Explosives on a lvl 7 Pershing ....and he's in 7th place with 749 damage. They have lvl 3 ribbons My biggest, number one damage dealer is not Armor....*insert drumroll here*😁.....but Infantry commander Simo Hayha with 1119 on a lvl 6 Hawkeye, lvl 4 ribbons. He should do more soon as I only a day ago got the level 6 Hawkeye. How much are your Tankers topping out at?

He should do more soon as I only a day ago got the level 6 Hawkeye. How much are your Tankers topping out at? Same level, but these figures may be misleading if we don't take other data into account. For example, how many enemies have your Manstein killed in comparison to Simo Hayha? And don't forget about the feature of some IAP generals and units of joint attacks. My best Damage dealers are Admirals but it is not because they are bright and brilliant but simply because we have a high level Richelieu in two of Pacific war missions And one more point. Quite likely your Simo achieved these results when attacking an Infantry unit, because Hawkeye have two bonuses: against Infantry and while fighting in forests. It is unjust, imo, to compare this to Armored units who don't have any terrain bonuses. And don't forget about other special abilities of Hawkeyes like additional crit damage and transition of surplus of crit rate into crit damage. Besides, just let me take your Rommel as an example. His bonus when commanding elite units is not only 2 mobility but also 25% crit damage. Without PL and equipped with only level 3 Honor Ribbon Rommel' crit rate is definitely not sufficient enough to make any use of this bonus. I am absolutely convinced that after replacing Explosives with PL your Rommel will deal more or less the same damage to fortifications as before, but his overall performance against other types of enemies will increase drastically.

🤔....ok? Maybe I should rephrase my question. I meant....do you think my tankers with plain fighting, (Manstein, Monty and Toby), are doing, at least, average damage relative to yours and everyone elses, ...and if below then, do you think the problem is with the ribbons? Im sure they will help at higher lvls but I am working with what I have.
I dont use Rommel nor Monty, as damage dealers as they have different roles for me. (I have ten tankers and not enough medals/ribbons, for them all). Am always open to constructive tips and new ideas. Thanks for sharing.

(I have ten tankers and not enough medals/ribbons, for them all). Am always open to constructive tips and new ideas. Thanks for sharing. You may use Rommel as you see fit, you have your ideas and that is understandable and acceptable, of course. My point was that whatever his role in your battle plans may be, he will be definitely better with PL instead of Explosives. You say that you try to build your generals in accordance with vehicles they command. But by ignoring PL you lose significantly more than you can gain, imo. You need a fast Rommel on T44. Fine, but with PL instead of Explosives your Rommel will be as fast as before, but his overall damage is increased by almost 50% in most of his attacks. Right now with 24% of probability of a critical attack he is just an average guy, hardly any better than majority of silver tier Tank generals. My Rommel has 719 max damage, but this comparison with your generals is not entirely fair because my elite unis after 4 months of playing can't be compared to yours. What we can compare however is the number of defeated units. My Rommel has 3.5 more defeated enemies than my best Infantry general. I am sure you have the same correlation. It means that tanks do majority of the fighting on land. And they should be Damage dealers notwithstanding their primary role in your plans. In other words, PL and AA are "a must", the rest is optional and depends on player's ideas...

Have to agree with stoic in this regard. Max damage numbers are misleading. My max was achieved by Yama on a lvl 6 Hawkeye attacking an infantry unit in a city while standing on a forest tile. This is impressive but doesn't provide much value in the grand scheme of things. On the other hand my Manstein (Tank Badge lvl 9, AA and PL Badges, lvl 5 red ribbon, with Inspiration and Explosives on a lvl 5 Tiger) can kill triple stacked heavy tanks. He can clear out so many powerful units in one turn that in no world would I ever prioritize placing my Hawkeye over him.

When Warzone came out, Doom recommended 19 Commanders and I only had between 15-17. I only received the last Armor Assault medal for passing the 8600 minimum only this week...yeah, also forgot all about it but new updates required a revisit. This I accomplished because, with the new updates, most of us have acquired many new generals as rewards, or newly available to buy with medals. With these my new total of generals is a 30 this week, including the IAP Yerymenko, Tobulkhin bundle...because i needed Arty Generals, in spite of having bought Brooke. This is why some were dedicated to one branch, while others had to serve in multi-role functions, of which, Rommel was one. I used him also on Artillery, sometimes even at sea. I had to even dress out Yamamoto as an Air/Sea/Arty and resource Commander with Industry. So he is the product of playing 6 years ago. Now that i no longer need him to be as flexible. I can consider and implement Plains F. On him. Its a neutral skill that can also be used by Artillery...downside is I will need more Plain/St Fighting medals. Manstein and Guderian are my Hammers, slightly different for swarms or forts. Now during this evolution, I dont see any harm switching Explosives for Plain. Ay more advice will always be appreciated.
