An idea I had while sitting around at school being bored:
Star Trek Wars!
These would be games, similar in basic concept to Theoretical Wars, played on a map of the Galaxy as depicted by Star Trek.
What's the same:
You have Forum members, leading nations, striving to dominate
What's different:
Unit types (Starships and Soldiers, each with their own niches)
Different Techs (Orbital combat satellites, Transwarp Conduits, and various other things of the kind)
The Map (Duh!)
The number of dice (will be 10, for ease of making an algorithm for casualties)
Size of the game (There are only 6 powers in the Galaxy, 2 of which are in distant parts)
Invaders:
NPC party from unexplored reaches (outside the galaxy and whatnot) that appears once the most powerful nation is powerful enough. They are equal in troop numbers to the most powerful nation, but have all the best techs. They must be annihilated to end the war.
Purpose of these:
Fun
Star Trek
Testing TW concepts
Variety in Role Play
Star Trek
What do y'all think?

Sounds cool. I actully had been thinking a similar idea. Can I reserve the Rommulan's if this ever happens? Also there could be more than 6 powers there could be: The Federation, Klingongs, Rommulans, Gorn, Cardassians, Dominon, Borg, Species 8472, Voth, Tholians, Orion Syndicate, You could let people be a minor made up planer that can align itself with a major power

You can run GW first. And Frederick the Great, you're right. We can add more nations, but it will be longer and more protracted than the interwar fun I conceived it would be My initial idea was having the Borg, Klingons, Cardassians, Romulans, and Federation at war, and Species 8472 as outside invaders

Note that ST happens in one galaxy.

Note that ST happens in one galaxy. Dude, I watched so many hours of Trek. Each Sector will contain 2 planets/moons that must be taken to control it and benefit from it. These may be in 1 or 2 systems (E.G. the Romulan Empire's home sector will contain both Romulus and Remus). Rules coming eventually today

He calls the Undine Species 8472 becuase that what most people know them as. I think they are only called Undine in Star Trek online. Also Bismarck I won't let your war die!
