One has to wonder what is that perfect build? and what of the costs.
Below maybe just a thought for few crazy possibilities, you may see a different and reasonable path better suited to your own needs.
All abilities are assumed at their highest peak so stars are at 5 and skills are at 4,achieving maximum upgrades.
----------------------------------------- Infantry: rank Field Marshal (3370), infantry max 5 stars (1840), marching speed max (2490) Skills: Infantry Commander (1080), bayonet charge (1120), Guerrilla (1080), surprise ( 720), supplies (1840)
This build cost is 13540 medals,a desirable upgrade is to add airforce for strikes, an additional 1320 medals to add to 5 air stars for a total of 14890 medals.
----------------------------------------
Armor: Field Marshal (3370), armor stars capability (2300), Air Force stars capability (1350), speed marching stars(2490)
Skills: armored Commander (1120), explosion (1120), Blitz (1080), steel torrent ( 1440), anti-armor warfare (1800)
This armor build configuration is to run to the bank as an expensive total of 16,070 medals.
----------------------------------------
Artillery: Field Marshal (3370), artillery capability stars (2950), marching speed stars (2490).
Skills: Artillery Commander (1120), fire coverage (1560), supplies (1840), explosion (1120), anti-armor warfare (1800)
This Custom configuration has player pull his hair for shows a total of 16,250 medals.

This is what I was wondering about! Good to know the exact cost of all of this upgrades. The cost would be more manageable if the upgrades are not taken to the max as the last upgrade is always so much more, and if we only pick the most important uogrades too.
And Wow I had a feeling it would be expensive to build perfect generals but this is just over the top aha, this makes the premium generals look like a basement bargain!
To make things worse Ieasytech charge A LOT more for their medals and for the premium generals outside of the chinese market than they do locally.

As I understand from several threads You can't upgrade the generals neither from premium list nor from the academies. You can only upgrade generals which You call eyes-covered. Is it correct? And whether it is reasonable as soon as medals are not so easy to earn? By the way, what are the medals used for (except purchasing generals from the academies)?

On both builds and others I am sure there is like a requirement of 3 must have skills and then one or two skills would be a matter of preference,or skills that fit your play style.
For example some favor the defensive skill (shield symbole) while other might think 10 percent to avoid attack isnt worth it and might prefer health tegen skill ect..ect..

Very interesting idea from easytech. But at the same time totally useless. Building a general will always be 3-5 times more expensive than purchasing a very-very similar general from the academy. I doubt it could be comfortable to play without paying.

I am thinking maybe we can make a good mobility general for 2k-3k medals if we limit skills to level 2 or 3 ?
Cause there are no high mobility generals in the academies at a good price anyways.
Who is gonna build this?

I would like to revive this thread for the sake of discussing not only the best combinations of skills to have, but for comparing skills in general.
To start off, other than the 3 basic skills for each unit class (2 for artillery/naval), what would you consider the most important skill?
For me, rather than any of the skills listed above, I'm inclined to say it's Shelter Expert, considering the increased threat from enemy airpower and missiles that grow the further you go into the game. Especially useful since it also reduces nuke damage. Any opinions in regards to this?

I'd say, Shelter Expert, Explosives, Supply, and Plain Fighting. I also think that Mountain Fighting could be a good choice for infantry. Even though they are less common than plain (obviously), mountains are available around the world and they offer defends against tanks and artillery. Also, infantry movement is not hindered by terrain.

Does explosives also affect cities or is it only for Bunkers and etc.? It it's the latter, then it would seem to be a waste of a skill, in my opinion.
