Wonders. But eventually upgrade your techs a bit. I've been going straight for industry and medal wonders, and it is extremely annoying. Why, you might ask? Well, when I see the average infantry unit do more damage than my armored car, it tends to make conquests all the more difficult.

1st medals then industry and gold/steel/oil. It is annoying in the beginning but really worth it. First time i had only 1-medal wounder.. This was a bad idea in the end game..
