Thats like saying America is Liberia or England is India That'd be more like saying America is the Thirteen Colonies or England is the United Kingdom. For the metaphor you just put up, you could say Germany is Namibia

For the metaphor you just put up, you could say Germany is Namibia I suppose maybe for the America one but not for England, since the process of forming Germany was extremely violent. Also, might I add, Prussia and Germany had two different governments, and at one point were seperate entities.

There was a North German Confederation but that was later abandoned, there was never a Kingdom of Germany really. The correct way would be Kingdom of Prussia and its allies-North German Confederation

Gotta bring this one up as I just knew about it.
Morning of July 1st 1916, British artillery bombs the living hell out of the Germans at the front (note that the Battle of Somme is about to begin soon), the British shoot 250000 artillery shells in AN HOUR (wanna know how much that is in minutes? 3500!) which created such a noise that could be heard north of London (!)
