Have You finished any of the missions with 3 gold stars? I need strategy. P.S.: Have anybody tried Antimatter bomb (still need to be unlocked) against aliens in mission 3? Maybe it gives some extra damage against them... |

I have tried only the first one with 3 copper stars. I decide to keep the missions for later when I get all the generals I want.

I made several attempts. Received 3 bronze stars for mission 1 and 2. That wasn't extremely difficult. Then tried for silver stars. Received 3 silver stars for mission 1 and 2 - that was a challenge. I made many attempts and very offen it is a matter of luck to beat it for 3 stars.
Then I decided to try gold stars. Mission 1 - received 2 stars and again it is a matter of luck. Mission 2 - only 1 star and there was a chance I will not pass it at all, but I was lucky: in all the cities there were my units under attack with minimum hitpoints.
Mission 3 seems to be too difficult. I made it with 2 bronze stars only and wasn't yet tried to pass it again.
So played it quite a lot and have no any strategy. Very offen it is just luck...

And one more thing. Maybe someone will confirm or disprove it. But it seems to me that in missions #1 and #2 (where there is only one allien base) UFO's loose its protection shield in case the Main Base is destroyed. Carriers however still have it even when the base is destroyed. I don't know maybe it's a mistake but it seems to me that I saw that two times - no shield animation and higher damage while hiting UFO in case the base is destroyed.
In case it is true it means the developers anticipated some hints for fighting the alliens. Well first of all it is Ion cannon (that's why You are awarded 1000 medals before starting the Alliens campaign) - it makes full damage when hiting Main base. Second - what I wrote earlier regarding the protection shield (in case it is true of course). And I also think that probably Antimatter bomb must be more effective then the atomic one - however I can't check it.

Tried mission #3 several times.
3 bronze stars, 2 silver stars and only 1 gold star.
However that is the only mission were at least some kind of strategy could be worked out.
