So I have Dobeln (max ranks, fully built), Sophia (4 star artillery and 2 +6 powder), and Washington (4 Infantry stars). I do not think I need another infantry general, because Washington has the ability to soak up damage (gave him a +6 supply tent and +4 defense coat) while Dobeln has output (+6 rifle and boots). Sophia kinda covers artillery atm (could be bolstered by other princess later) and I am torn between getting more trainers or just getting a good last slot and calling it a day for now. I do definitely need a good Cavalry general in the ranks, but I do not want to give up any of my current generals. Am planning to buy more slots for generals in the semi-near future, so I could survive w/o trainers. Your thoughts?

I'd say regroup Dobeln, regroup Sophia on navy. Get Isabela, and end with Lasalle. Or get Dombrowski, and end with (Grouchy/Scharnhorst if regroup Washington on navy)/(Collingwood/Ushakov if not).
Another choice: Buy Nelson(you mentioned Lannes, so I guess you have 8 emblems)/Moreau, end with Golitsyn.

That's a lot.
I'll recommend 1 arty+1 cav. Arty: Nelson: rush on front line, and do massive damage by retaliate, navy potential. Isabela: fastest, 5 hex on heavy/siege arty all the time. Moreau: only Accurate+Explosive.
Cav: Lan: do I need to explain? Dombrowski: Defense Art, Banner if you have great skill&plenty of medals. Lasalle: great last slot filler.
Fireman: Lannes: army fireman, inf oriented. Poniatowski: everything.

Poniatowski can do everything, so a definite favorite
Davout is fast, has s/l, and both Art and Cav Potential
One of them can be a useful part of every lineup

Lannes is one of the more deadly ones in my opinion. Maybe I'm a bit bias in the situation, considering he always does decently when facing the onslaught of my generals, but one cannot deny that power.

I'd say get me if you need an output general (which you already have with Döbeln), or Poniatowski ss hybrid. You could also ignore that and go for France 1798 with Jean-Luc Picard's guide to get Isabela

I want Lannes, but only after I get more monies to send Easytech's way, because (especially as a person going to Officer's School) I appreciate his mindset and the type of leader he was. The reason I am attracted to Poniatowski and Lannes and Dombrowski is because they were not the men to stand upon a hill far away and watch the battle. They went in. They were there, in the thick of it, just as vulnerable (in theory) as any one of their soldiers, and this in my opinion separates a good officer from a great one. Sorry for the mini-rant, but yeah, thats my two cents. Mannheim and Döbeln were the same way, so they are brosephs too.

Sophia and Isabella will be quite enough for now I usually like to think in terms of: 2 Art (Isabela+Sophia), 2 Cav (Lan+Your choice), 1 Inf/Nav combo (Victoria!), and 1 leftover. The debate of whether the Leftover is Art or Cav is solved by Davout or Poniatowski, who are both. Lasalle/Murat/Golitsyn end up making the last slot in such a lineup

Yeah that's really astonishing. I would like to read what he wrote during his operation but I can't find it, does anyone know where to find it?
