Yes he did get paroled and returned to Sweden, but despite his personal fame and great acclaim in Sweden he died very poor. Yeah that's really astonishing. I would like to read what he wrote during his operation but I can't find it, does anyone know where to find it? If we have a Swedish forum member, his writings and speeches are considered some of the best of the language ever.

I want Lannes, but only after I get more monies to send Easytech's way, because (especially as a person going to Officer's School) I appreciate his mindset and the type of leader he was. The reason I am attracted to Poniatowski and Lannes and Dombrowski is because they were not the men to stand upon a hill far away and watch the battle. They went in. They were there, in the thick of it, just as vulnerable (in theory) as any one of their soldiers, and this in my opinion separates a good officer from a great one. Sorry for the mini-rant, but yeah, thats my two cents. Mannheim and Döbeln were the same way, so they are brosephs too. *Insert glorification here* But yeah speaking historically all of those and a few others (Oudinot, Desaix, etc) would fight (and almost all) get killed in battle

Lannes is a good kamikaze but I find him easy to beat with Döbeln because Döbeln just hits harder. S/L'ing religiously will get Lannes to win almost any engagement true, but if you want a general who can do that than wouldn't Murat be a better choice? S/L each unit against Murat at a time and he can wreck a lot faster than either Lannes or even Lasalle. Personally I prefer my Döbeln in an infantry engagement (granted he is full nobility/rank and has 5 training stars like Lannes, and 3 movement stars) Suvorov is too expensive, and Döbeln gets the job done pretty well. Would love to give him assault art xD

Nelson is BOSS in artillery imo. I know! I'm playing as Italy in 1798, him and Moreau on light artillery are destroying Prussia and HRE.
