Hello everybody, I am making this guide to help new players be efficient with their medals and to help them do as less farming as possible.
THE BEGGINING:
At the start, the game generously gives you 350 medals and 2 general refreshes.
Most of you new players will usually buy a cheap (useless) general at the start and that should not be strange to you since we all once thought it was the best thing to do.
The way you should start the game is by saving those medals and buying a good (right of the bat) general with raw power (I would advise you somebody like Golitsyn, Scharnhorst, Oudinot/Döbeln.
The beginning is the hardest part to pass since we know so little about the game and we still need time to learn the mechanisms.
If you cannot pass one of the missions with 5 stars, do not hesitate to skip it.
Just to point out: You can get a good 2nd tier general by passing only a few early campaing missions.
EARLY-MID GAME :
When you pass the first 2 campaings, you will earn in total around 1500 medals.
At this time you have your 2nd tier general and a few medals saved.
The best way to start approaching the HRE campaing is by doing some conquests to get a princess or 2 tfrom kanue's guide: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/692/hre-1798-running-princesses-guide?page=1
When you have around 3 generals, you should focus on buying items (I would advise you not to regroup Fatimah and use her to save you a few hundered medals).
The items you must have are a warhorse and snare drums.
THE PRINCESS RUNNING GAME:
With buying only 3 things (warhorse, drums and your 2nd tier general, you should be able to pass everthing till the Eastern Overlord campaing.
This campaign will require you to have the epic princess Isabela and to buy a few artillery trainers to buff her up.
At this point, since this is a FTP guide, your mightiest generals are going to be your princesses and you should start buying trainers to make them stronger.
Again, follow kanue's guide to help you get Isabela.
By this time, you are going to have your 2nd tier general and your 3 princesses/2 and a trainer.
The sad part comes here for you free to play players: You can't advance effectively if you don't have one of the last 2 princesses. Doing conquests to buff up your generals to and to make them stronger (look at the farming rank and nobility guides) is a must do.
THE LATE GAME (FOR FREE TO PLAY PLAYERS):
When you get your last 2 princesses, you should be somewhere around the end of the american campaing.
At this stage, if you aren't planning on buying emblems or extra slots, you must start buying trainers for your 3 babes and getting them all up to 5* of their respective class, 5* movement, 5* navy for Victoria and Lan.
The SNS missions are very hard and you will probably need to buy a last slot filler when you are done with regrouping (I would advise you a cavalry general for this) since the ability to attack mulitiple times is invalueable and that is how your medal-using game will end.
Hopefully this was at least somewhat helpful for you guys who are new or for people that plan on re-doing the game again.
This was not a detailed guide, but it will give you a rough explanation on you game progress.
